I am a woman driver "97 Breeze Problems..Help!

I just wanted you all to know, that "Yes", I am a woman driver. I understand that my threads are probably crrazy but this car is perplexing me with some of the sounds it is making and the few things that are going wrong. I could really use some advise.

1. Gurgling noise after a road trip (see previous threads for details)
2. check engine light went on-diagnosed with code 1494 ...somethiung to do with gas vapors? :confused: :confused:
3. Dome light doesn't go on when I open the front drivers side door only...works when I open the others
4. The back passenger window does not go down...and YES, I checked the child lock ( I am woman, not disabled) :lol:

1. Some people dont know this, but antifreeze does more than keep your engine coolent from freezing, it also increases the boiling point. I'd flush your collant system and put in a 50/50 mix of water and antifreeze (too much antifreeze = internal corrosioin of engine, too little and your coolant can freeze and crack your engine block). If you dont have enough antifreeze, the boiling point will be lower, hence after a long drive when your engine is at its hottest, your coolant could be boiling. Check your temp gauge when you hear the sound, and dont be afraid to pop the hood and see if steam is coming out of the overflow resivior (check owners manual if you're confused where the resivoir is. should be on the pssenger side, close to the front.). DO NOT OPEN THE RAD CAP WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT!! YOU PROBABLY WILL GET HORRIBLY BURNED!!

2. Had the same code with my car. Your gas cap will click when you put it back on so you cant overtighten it. Crank it down so it clicks a lot. Then take your car to advanced auto or auto zone and have them clear the code. If you light comes back on, take it to the dealer to diagnos your EVAP system (the EVAP system prevent gas vapors from entering the atmosphere). The equipment to diagnos is very expensive so chance are your smaller car shop wont have it.

3. As for the dome light issue, im willing to bet its the swicth. I believe its located in the door jam of the B pillar. (the B pillar is the piece of metal between the doors) Opwn up your door and hit the switch with your finger to see if its stuck, if so, it needs replaced. If not, its an electircal problem.

4. The window could be casued from a few different things. Bad window motor, electrical problems, or it my be stuck. Its hard to say what the problem is without taking the door panel off and testing voltages. I assume you tried both switches for the window (drives door and door the window is on).

Hope somethign here helps, and just cause you're a woman, doesnt mean you cant fix things. Another thing, in my opinion, diamler chyrsler cars are some of the most problem ridden cars on the road.

I forgot to ask but were you using your A/C when you heard that gurggling noise? Sometimes your A/C system will make that nosie after the compressor stops. I believe this is normal. Can anyone collaborate?
