Lifter replacement 97 S-10 4CYLftc_pmt 11-06-2005, 12:20 PM I have about 135k miles on it and one lifter sounds like a monkey with a ball peen hammer inside the bock, anyways, when i get around to replacing the lifter and cam will i need to have the block machined where the bad lifter was? The rest of the moter still holds 40-45 psi of oil pressure cold, and around 20 psi when its all warmed up. any suggestions? :smokin: OverBoardProject 11-06-2005, 02:03 PM I don't think that any machining will be required. But you won't know until you pull the lifter. They usually just collapes, and that's about it. whitetrash982 11-07-2005, 12:10 AM sorry to be the bearer of bad news , i dont know if you know , but the head has to come off to get the damn lifters out , i know this cuz i had to do it too , and they still made noise! i was angry to say the least , course , i dident change the cam , o well. but i bet youll have a good ol time with it to begin with if you decide to change all that in the car anyways huh? good luck! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
