This was my best time of the night, i think a 14.5 would have been possible had i stayed a little later.

Reaction .---5891
60 FT ---2.2138
330FT ---6.1567
1/8 ET ---9.3997
1/8 MPH ---75.24
1000 ET ---12.2498
1/4 ET ---14.6728
1/4 MPH --- 93.16

Other times

14.7@92MPH
14.7@92MPH
14.7@92MPH
14.7@92MPH
14.8@92MPH

LOL maybe i should be bracket racing this car? I know its not faster than when i was stock, but when i ran a 14.7 with no mods, i ran a 2.0 60ft, i cant seem to get better than 2.2 now. Way to much wheel spin, so im hoping new tires in the spring will change that for me.

Wow. Talk about consistency. Have you tried launching at a lower rpm, or does it bog down when you do that?

-Jayson-

still spin, if i jsut take off from idle i spin, so if i take off with some RPS, usually around 1200 i spin, but im faster when im done spinning

No way your 2001 Cavalier ran a 14.7 sec. 1/4 mile stock w/o that S/C.

Nice times though. I'm sure you can catch alot of people off guard. Since it's fwd I dunno how you can change your gearing.

uhh no i meant stock with the supercharger

:loser: That wasn't a factory option, even though it was dealer installed.

How many miles are on your current tires and what treadwear rating do they have?

I'm not sure how much the new tires will help, since you're going from 16" to 17" on the rims which means even smaller sidewall.

If I were you, I'd just get that 5-speed swap, it can't possibly cost that much. It will be the best bang for the buck improvement in your 1/4.

you jsut dont get it, i run dead par or even slightly fsater than 5 speeds. My buddy has a supercharged cavalier 5 speed, same setup as mine, only his is stock except for the charger. His best is a 14.8@95MPH.

A 5 speed swap would be a big huge massive waste of money. Ive got to spend 800 bucks on the trans, then i need to pay someone to remove the old one, install the new one, mount the pedals, but the new interior, run the lines, change the ECU, reflash the ECU again,

it would cost around 3,000 grand to swap a 5 speed into my car. For that much i could be running 12's.

If he's trapping 95mph, and you're only trapping 92-93 then his car is the faster one. He just needs to learn how to launch it. MPH shows the cars potiental.

Running 95mph should be netting him 14.4-14.5 ETs.

I'm not even going to respond to the waste of money comment. :uhoh:

I think you should put some nitrous on it, throw on some DR's, and then go out hunting. Get some vids if you do do that.

That's pretty good for a supercharged cavalier. Get some better tires and I think you could pull off a 14.4

not too bad runs, im really impressed with your reaction time on the best run

I forget are you still planning to take the Z24 further, or are you saving up for a new car?

Well, that depends if it's a .000 or .500 tree.

Yeah, what are you saving up for next? Saving up for that Big Shawt?!? :iceslolan

lol no i was sleeping at the light that one, its a .000 tree.

Yeah he might trap a little faster, but not nearly enough to warrant an expensive transmission swap.

I do plan on taking the car farther, but not just yet. Right now im gonna make it look a little better and ride a little better. I need them tires, and i plan on butting leather interior inside with some heated seats, and a nice flip out DVD in dash head unit.

I dont understand why you guys don't just go ahead and enter a race. I mean you're already spending $10 or $15 for your test and tune session, so why not go ahead and spend about $10 more and have a shot at winning some money???? I mean its not like you have to cut double-Oh lights and run dead on to win the street classes.

And yeah, seems like your car was running pretty consistant, but what was all of those 14.7s with? Its good that you're running in the 14.70s consistantly, because that's def. what it takes, but if one pass is a 14.790 and another is 14.705, then that's not consistant.

Bracket racing is for losers anyways. I could take a bicycle out to the track and win in a bracket race.

i thought about doing bracket racing. But i dont know anything about racing.

Also my times ranged from 14.71 to 14.78. The 14.8 i tried launching at a really high RPM. And the 14.6 i just got a really nice launch. I was trying different launch RPMS the whole time, im sure if i just stuck with like 1,200 RPM launches the whole time they would be alot more consistant.

Atleast you are content with your car, even if people critique it since it's a cavalier. I'm not content with my car right now. Thinking about trading it in already.

be happy with your runs too.

I heard a story about a old guy running a 22.7 over and over beat out some Sled pulling 8s at a braket night.

Just lil funnyness about topic.

The only time bracket racing ever pisses me off is when street T&T lane is running and it gets stopped to run bracket cars. I say everyone waits their turn. Scenes how drag tracks are there to keep it off the street anyways. We all paid the same amount to race, we should get equal runs.

Man, if you wanna try it, you really should. Some people get hooked on it after one race. I saw a station wagon out there owning.lol Not for me, but damn, have fun with the car be it killing some cars on the highway or winning bracket races! Carry on my wayward sons!

:screwy:

Well, the concept is pretty simple; dial your car what you think it will run and then be done with it, lol. That's the very basics. Best thing to do is go and watch it one weekend, and then just try it the next.

Main thing to remember is not to dial your car what you want it to run, lol. Dial it what its running. And if you ever race a car that's alot faster then you, DON'T LIFT unless you are absolutley positive that he's not going to catch you. Becuase trust me, you'll go the entire length of the track and not ever see them, and then literally, within the last 10 ft. of the race distance, there they are, and if you've lifted say at the mph lights or something, they'll blow by ya and you'll see their win light come on.

A lot of people don't realize it, but it does matter who gets to the finish line first. So you always want to try and beat whoever you're racing to the line, the thign is, you have to do it without a foul (red light or breaking out). So if can beat you to the line, and there's no fouls, then I have to win the race because overall, I was closer to a perfect run (.500 light and dead on with a zero) then you were.
