I think an EVO tried to pick a race with me today

I was coming home from work this evening, driving normal, 60 mph on US 23 when this EVO comes in behind me.

I'm on a 4-lane, but its in a very busy stretch just South of Pikeville, KY (like 4 service stations within 1 mile plus several office buildings-basically, people in the slow lane or always pulling on or off the road and if you stay in it, you will without a doubt get caught behind somebody pulling on or off the road).

So I'm in the fast lane, like I said, doing 60 mph (speed limit is 55) according to my speedo (obvisouly driving my truck, lol) and this red Evo changes lanes and gets right behind me (pretty close, I could still see his head lights, but barely). We pass a car and then he changes lanes (goes to the slow lane, a lane you don't want to be in on this part of the road) and then rushes up beside of me and then starts pacing me :screwy:. I'm thinking WTF? This goes on for like half a mile I guess so I increase my speed to 65 mph and get out in front of him a little. As soon as I clear his front end, he immediatley changes lanes and follows me. We pass 3 or 4 cars and I've slowed back down to 60 mph. As soon as the traffic clears he changes lanes back to slow lane and rushes beside of me and paces me again, this time for maybe an 1/8th-1/4 of a mile. He then gradually passes me on up and then cuts back in front of me and then after about another 1/4 of mile or so he goes on and takes what I assume to be his exit (which required him to get back in the slow lane).

So I dont know if this guy was just trying to show off to me that he had an EVO (no offense to EVOs-they are fast, but like I would give a shit that he had one, lol) or if he was really wanting to pick a race, which would be pretty dumb on his part considering I was driving my full size Chevrolet 4WD truck! I'm going to really give him run in that, lol!

The only thing I can figure is the guy thought I was the typical redkneck that thought his Chevy truck w/a 350 was a race truck. I guess in his defense my truck does fit that stereotype (clear lights, billet grille, flowmasters, billet gas door, tinted windows, etc.), but its usually the other way around (the guys driving the trucks pick on those "foriegn ricer" cars, lol.

Oh well. Just thought I would share that little "event".

I don't know but maybe he was just trying to clear traffic, and his radar detector gave him a false alert, and that's why he paced you, and then slowly passed you. Just a guess. :dunno:

Maybe. Its a pretty good straight stretch though, you can usually pick up the Crown Vics with your eyes, but maybe thats what it was.

This guy didn't look like the racer type, lol. More like the type that bought (well, had his Daddy buy) the car to increase his "cool factor", lol. You know the type.

hmmm....60 mph in the left lane and then a car goes to pass you on the right and you speed up to prevent his move. What could possibly be the problem?

Did you even read my post? I was going 60, the guy pulls beside me in the slow lane and comes up beside me fast like he was going to pass me, then just paces me for atleast 1/2 a mile, while I was still going 60.

So you tell me what coudl possibly be the problem :screwy:?
