This might be a simple ?? for some. I want to remove my NISSAN and se-r emblems and not sure if there will be holes or heavy glue used to put them on. Will there be holes and how can I fill them, or will there be a lot of S#*T I will need to scrape off? PLease help. Thanx.

Here's the scoop.

All emblems on the rear as well as the SER badges on the side are basically just stickers. They have an adhesive on the back that loosens when heated.

Take a hair dryer and warm them up, then some waxed dental floss to run behind the badge to get it off. It shouldn't leave much resedue. Nothing that a wash cloth won't take completely off. Just remember to give it a couple coats of wax to protect it.

This holds true for the silver NISSAN badge on the rear as well. There are no screws into the trunk. There will be no holes or blemeshes when you are done.

As for the front. The Nissan badge has tabs that were pressed to the side and melted on. Take a screw driver and pry them up. Takes a lot of work to get them off. Took me at least an hour. I was not happy. But, it comes off eventually.

Hope that helps.

Thanx for those tips, GB. Do you know how to get the NISSAN emblem off of the trunk lid? Is it also a sticker like the se-r stickers?

Yes, from what I gather, it is a sticker and should come off in the same fashion as the rest. I have not done it myself, but I have heard others have.

Thanx again GB. I just removed them all, and yes the emblem on the trunk lid is a sticker. The glue/adhesive wipes off fairly easy. Thanx.

Glad you were able to get all the badges off. Car looks pretty nice cleaned up like that doesn't it?

I removed the SENTRA lettering from the back and the NISSAN Hamburger from the front grille. I took both front grilles off and painted them chrome/silver. Then I got another SE-R badge from my local dealer and put it where the old NISSAN badge was. I think it is a major improvement. Aside from that and a lot of audio install, I painted my brake calipers red. I have a Black Spec-V, and the red calipers look really sharp.

Good luck with your mods (Cosmetic and/or Performance), and let us all know how things turn out.

Take Care

Thanx again GB. Since you mentioned painting your calipers, can you also teach me? I also posted a new thread titled "Break Caliper Paint" so others that might be interested could benefit from your wealth.

Hey Silver Spec V...

You got any pics of what your ride looks like w/out the emblems? I'm just curious to see how it looks. Thanks.

Sorry, I'm kinda slow. I'm still trying to figure out how to work my digital camera. I will get to it as soon as I get a chance and post my pics to share with you all. But to answer your ?? Jm, I personally think it is very nice without the emblems but my girl thinks I should have left the SE-R badges on because it's not just any sentra, it's a SE-R.

I left the Spec-V stickers on.

I like how your car looks w/o the badge... can't decide about the color of the front grill tho... silver would probably look a lot cleaner...

I agree with the other about the sideskirts, paint em black, and drop it a few inches and it will look pimp...

I think it would actually look better if you painted the rest of your car red now.

Damn, this forum thing is painful. Don't hold back on the opinions at all. I haven't had anyone see it and say they didn't like it till i posted it here. OK, you guys have convinced me, I'll be changing it again. I was thinking of purchasing the full body kit from stillen and trying that red. Maybe?? I think it would look better if it went all the way around instead of just under the doors. Does anyone like it the way it is?

The problem is that Black is such a hard color to match accents with. If it were a red car and you matched small Black accents, that would be different. It is just hard to make it look nice. Personally, I think Black is a very classy finish. I like chrome/silver accents with a Black car, that keeps the sharp, classy look. Sort of BMW/Lexus style. know what I mean!?

I don't want to give you quite as hard a time as others have, but I think you would be happier with a little different color scheme. I know the critics here at this forumn would be happier.

Good luck!

Ok haha I nkow I'm reviving this very very old thread, but I wanted to take off that hamburger off of the front grill so I decided to look through the forum, since it seem slike people arn't happy when you just post without looking for past statements about the same thing. Anyway, so I took off the Nissan thing, I was wondering where everyone got their SE-R badge from. Cuz the ones I saw were all those stickers, like those on the sides of your car and on the rear passenger side. Were those the ones you guys used or did you guys actually use one with screws on them, and how did you guys put it on? A little help would be highly appreciated:)

I would keep the SE-R badges unless you are building a sleeper. Black is a much better color than red in my opinion.

For future reference, to remove pinstripes, vinyl, dealer stickers etc. there is an adhesive wheel out on the market. Its a solid rubber wheel ($15) that you put in a drill that will take adhesive off of paint. It smells like ass but removes glue without scratching the paint.

lol you didn't answer my question. I was wondering where the people get their SER badges from that they put on the front of their grill. I was wondering if it's the sticker or a screw-on. If it's the sticker like the one on the back passenger side, I was wondering how they put it on.

I was just responding to the thread in general, alot of people have asked about removing glue.

I think you can get the SE-R badge in sport compact car magazine. I know for sure they have the side badges. They just go on with 3M automotive grade two sided moulding tape. I don't know how the front ones mount, I'llcheck on it though.

Why on earth would you want to remove the Nissan decals and emblems??? Let everyone know what you drive and what it stands for. You can buy different color decals online if you are unhappy with the stock ones.

I kept all the emblems except for the front Nissan one, it's not like I took off the rear "Nissan" or "Sentra" stickers, and I didn't take off any "SER" stickers. I just didn't like the front one, and I'd rather have the SER emblem on the front that's all. Not like I want to drive a car and nobody knows what the hell it is.

This is one very old thread.

In case noone answered you yet. You can get the SE-R badges at your local Nissan dealership. Their are two sizes... the ones for the side of the car and the one on the back of the car.

Any other questions, let me know.

You can buy different decals and emblems at this website for a cheaper price than the dealers:
http://www.grafxwerks.com/products/index.php

Just scroll down until you see the Sentra SE-R. I bought black "Spec V" decals and removed the gray stock ones. It looks better now. I even put a "Spec V" decal under the SENTRA logo in the trunk.
