Removing Heads From 1995 Beretta

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a small problem I have encountered. I am trying to get the heads off of my 1995 Beretta GTZ and can not figure out how to get the bracket off, that holds the alternator on. It is a 3100 and I have tried most things from removing the bolts to tilting the motor, but the wall surrounding the struts is in the way. I was wondering if anyone knows of a trick to get this bracket off.

Thanks

Jaime

Jamie, do you have the right side upper motor mount disassembled and out of the way ? You will need to support the engine under the oil pan with a floor jack (use some wood on top of jack) this should allow you the room to get your bracket out. Hope this helps !

Yeah fiero is right, you have to take off the top engine mount. I had to do this in June to replace the head gaskets. Don't forget to put a brand new Serpentine belt on before you reassemble the engine mount otherwise you will have to disassemble it again (pain in the A**). Also maybe get some new studs for your exhaust manifolds right away as 1 or 2 may break on you. This happend to me and I had to mig weld a nut on the end of it to get it out of the aluminum head.
Have fun!!
