240sx sr swap ?relix_oner 11-03-2005, 02:51 PM I have just recently started working on a sr20det swap into my 1993 240sx hatch. Iv'e been going at it for about 2 weekends now (4 days) and I have pulled out the old motor cleaned up the engine bay, and dropped in the sr. None of the electrical is hooked up yet and about half the vacume lines are hooked up. To get to the point I worked my ass off to get this motor and I am very excited to get it up and running. I was wondering what kind of 1/4 mile times I should expect out of it ? ? sr20det redtop The mods I have are HKS Front Mount Intercooler; HKS BOV; ACT Clutch; Fidanza Light weight flywheel; HKS Intake with z32 MAF; Greddy Light Weight pulleys; Rebuilt t25 turbo; XS dump pipe; XS Down Pipe; 2 1/2 inch exhaust (no cat); walbro fuel pump; NGK ix plugs and nology wires...and thats it. I was thinking low 15's? I live in new mexico so the elevation kind of fuck shit up for me.. When I had the KA24 with 2.5 inch exhaust; intake; plugs and wires. I ran a 16.4. driftking777 11-03-2005, 05:32 PM i would say with a manual or electric boost controller mid 13's are def possible...need to get an LSD now and a boost controller...along with some other stuff...but low 14's at least on the setup you have... AWDSR20 11-03-2005, 08:37 PM Z32 MAF? what kind of ECU do u have? BTW, the T25 is not the best turbo for 1/4 mile AWDSR20 11-03-2005, 08:40 PM BTW T25 w .7 bar... mid 14's bro. relix_oner 11-04-2005, 01:33 AM Z32 MAF? what kind of ECU do u have? BTW, the T25 is not the best turbo for 1/4 mile I have the ka24 ECU and the SR20 ECU! I don't really know shit about the wiring so a local shop is going to do it for me (Auto Image) and make sure everything runs correctly for $400 I also have the plug for the Z32 (300zx) MAF so from what I hear they just cut the wires and splice them together. I know the t25 turbo is quite small and what not but I ran out of money so I'll just be driving it around with this setup until I can afford a Blitz turbo kit. I'm not really into drag racing anyways. I like drift and circuit ...but I was just wondering. Also if anyone else has some recomendations on what type of turbo kits I should look into besides Blitz let me know. relix_oner 11-04-2005, 01:43 AM how much boost can I run on the stock turbo before I start to fuck shit up R.W.240 11-04-2005, 01:55 AM I voted 16s. Z32 MAF + Untuned ECU = 16s relix_oner 11-04-2005, 02:00 AM I voted 16s. Z32 MAF + Untuned ECU = 16s whats wrong with z32 MAF and the ecu will be tuned when i get the wiring done at the shop LaYzIeNoY 11-04-2005, 02:02 PM nology wires??? what wires are these? i ran mid to high 14s, off of sr20det, FMIC, 3inch exhuast, Z32maf, 3inch cone filter, SAFC2, HKS SSQV, at stock boost, electric fan, and no a/c oh ya stage 3 clutch D-Bo 11-04-2005, 04:04 PM the z32 maf is obviously much wider than the stock 240. then the mafs sends the wrong reading to the ecu and fuel delivery gets all fucked up. if you have your fuel remapped then you'll be ok with the z32 mafs, infact, i'm getting one and sending my ecu to enthalpy. consider doing that yourself because nobody will put out a better product. your car will be slow as fuck without a tuned ecu if you have a z32 mafs installed. r.w. wasn't putting the z32 mafs down, he was just implying what i just said. its a perfect mafs to use. that, or the cobra or q45. orestes 11-04-2005, 04:42 PM yeah dont you need at least a piggyback fc to not lose power with the Z32 mafs? just wiring it up wont do it. R.W.240 11-04-2005, 07:38 PM Yeah... your wiring guy is just gonna wave his magic wand and your ECU will be tuned perfect for a Z32 MAF. Then theres the Nology wires part. Have fun putting those on your car, I bet you'll pic up like 5HP! AWDSR20 11-04-2005, 09:49 PM I voted 16s. Z32 MAF + Untuned ECU = 16s i'm sure that u can't run a Z32 MAF on a stock 20sx ECU (SR or KA)!!! i have the F-con stand alone, and I can "if I want to" install the Z32 MAF, BUT only and only bcs i can tune my ECU for extra voltage reading. u need a Air/fuel controler bro!!! slideways... 11-05-2005, 02:32 PM Then theres the Nology wires part. Have fun putting those on your car, I bet you'll pic up like 5HP!       i heard iridium spark plugs get you more hp too relix_oner 11-07-2005, 04:03 PM I realize just hooking up a much bigger mass air flow sensor is not going to "JUST WORK" They are doing "the wiring and make sure everything runs correctly" this includes what they said would be a very slight ECU tune. They would have done the wire set up for $250 but since I didn't have the sr maf it would be more....Hence the $400 ALSO .....What do you THINK?" Which turbo kit Advantages Disadvantages? Top Mount? Bottom Mount? 1.Blitz 2.HKS 3.Turbonetics 4. or Full Race Motorsports AWDSR20 11-07-2005, 07:46 PM bro... read FAQs.. do u have $$$$??? if so all is goooood... top mount, is for big turbo clearance that is all. i have HKS GT2835RS and i like it...and HKS f-con stand alone... i like HKS...whatever that is suppose to mean lol! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
