faster carcivicex96 11-03-2005, 11:17 AM Honda Civic EX 96' if you were given a honda civic ex 96' stock. what would be the first thing you did to it to make it have more RPMs and make it go faster. Ace$nyper 11-03-2005, 11:22 AM Honestly just sell it. I would search and read up on the b18c1 swap. SiGNAL748 11-03-2005, 11:38 AM h22a Ace$nyper 11-03-2005, 11:41 AM h22a DOOD WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUR SIG thats fucked up Schister66 11-03-2005, 11:45 AM K20.......want one??? QUICK_EG_B16A 11-03-2005, 02:02 PM That's a broad question. I think the most cost effective thing would be to do a swap. Then modify that engine. Don't waste the money modding a d series. Schister66 11-03-2005, 03:05 PM d series does have potential though......w/ bottom end modification and BOOST civicex96 11-09-2005, 01:25 PM my honda civic ex 96' is lowered with a k&N short ram intake on it how much would it be to swap the engine and what type of engine should i get and im saying i want a fast car. CivicSpoon 11-09-2005, 01:32 PM If you want a fast car, you'll have to do more than just an engine swap. An engine swap, build the engine, and turbo would be your best bet. Otherwise a K20 would be your best bet (then h22a, then ITR, then GS-R, etc). The cost will completely depend on what engine you go with and what you do to it. Figure out a budget (a real budget, none of that "well I think I might be able to spend $10K" crap), and figure out some reasonable power goals (400whp isn't going to happen for $5K). Schister66 11-09-2005, 02:31 PM just know that w/e you pick, power doesn't come cheap and there are no ways around spneding a good chunk of change. Your best bet is to swap and boost if you're not happy w/ the power that the new engine has. A b18c1 swap and boost is going to cost $6-7k+ for a good engine and a turbo set up....and that's on a stock engine. As soon as you know what you what and the budget you have, then we'll talk civicex96 11-11-2005, 10:43 AM ight well i got around 2000 and i dont want to do an engine swap rite now what modifications should i buy to gain hp or what would be my best option. Schister66 11-11-2005, 12:52 PM Greddy turbo kit would be the best bang for the buck as far as factory mods....you could build a DIY turbo kit and see some pretty big hp gains... iVteC_PoWeR 11-15-2005, 08:51 PM since your on that low of a budget save some more money strengthen your internals and turbo... Schister66 11-15-2005, 11:43 PM on a D, you can make up to 220whp before needing to worry about internal mods.....get the Greddy or a DIY turbo kit and you'll be good and you won't break the bank. duffman868 12-02-2005, 12:40 AM just use spray and when you blow the d just drop another and keep spraying CivicSpoon 12-02-2005, 12:49 AM just use spray and when you blow the d just drop another and keep spraying And then sooner or later you'll have spent enough $ that could have gone towards a turbo kit. Kuntry_Boi06 12-02-2005, 11:53 AM do what schister said turbo the damn thing it is a lot cheaper than a engine swap and you can gain huge power from it. plus it's cheaper. Schister66 12-02-2005, 12:39 PM do what schister said turbo the damn thing it is a lot cheaper than a engine swap and you can gain huge power from it. plus it's cheaper. See everyone agrees...im' always right!! :p check out www.turbod16.com www.homemadeturbo.com and www.honda-tech.com you should be able to get all fo the info you need from those sites and AF.....turbo D16 is going to have the most info for you!! 93civicsiracer 04-27-2006, 06:15 AM to answer the original question. for more rpm. chip the ecu witha skunk 2 program. d series engines have a lot a potential. who ever says they dont smokes crack. i had a d series running at 31/2 cylinders, (3 of 4 said about 100 psi and 1 said 50psi. ) and i was smokin people left and right. if u get an old engine and bring it back to stock specs before building on it ull get a lot better results with ur car.thats what iv done with all my engines vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
