gear oil plug on tranny... which one for filling??HoosierDrifter 11-02-2005, 09:01 PM well my tranny in dripping out a lil gear oil out of the tail shaft i beleive.. so i need to check it and fill it... there is a plug on each side of the tranny near the shifter area... are those the ones i use to fill and check the oil depth? wotandsdwys 11-02-2005, 09:30 PM I'm pretty sure its the driver side, thats the one I've used. nissanfanatic 11-02-2005, 09:38 PM Fill it through either. What I do: take one plug out of either side. Fill through shifter until oil comes out of that hole. R.W.240 11-02-2005, 09:54 PM Fill it through either. What I do: take one plug out of either side. Hit_N_Run-player 11-02-2005, 10:29 PM whoops, i read fanatics post wrong. I drain it all out, and refill with a hose untill it comes out the top plug. Its kinda a pain though. What gear oil do you guys use? The only GL-4 i could find was a 80W-85W-95W mix IIRC. Its something like that, a blend of the three. Is that what i should be using? nissanfanatic 11-02-2005, 11:43 PM GL-4 yes. If I had a syphon pump or hose long enough to fill via plug I would.. until then, I'm gonna keep rockin the gear oil interior fragrence... (honestly.. its not hard to not spill...really...) I've been eyeing this stuff for a lil bit. Might pick some up after I get my AVC-R. http://splparts.com/Parts/SilviaShared/Hardware/Fluids/default.asp Obviously the Neo 75w-90HD.... orestes 11-03-2005, 02:53 AM nasty gear oil inside your car. The shit stinks and it stinks for awhile. Also have the car as level as possible when doing this. Fill it up until fluid comes out of the fill plug hole and then let the excess drain, then put the plug back on. no shit!! like 2 drops in my friends car's trunk made it smell. i hate that stuff. I'll let you know if it helps my first gear syncro any. I'll Prolly start using Power Neo motor oil after my stock of Hydrotex runs out. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
