looking at '98 RL with 145,000miles is that a lot of miles for an Acura???

that's kind of a lot of miles, but if its solid still, i wouldn't worry about it. You can always rebuild the engine, but its all the accessories that you have to worry about.

My wife has a 97 RL with 142K miles on it. Still drives like new and uses less than 1/4 quart every 3k miles.

As long as you can get service records for it that car will run for another 100K if you take care of it. I have an 88 Legen I bought with 90K and beat the hell out of it. now it has 195K and hasn't lost a step. Just be sure to service the timing belt.
