Hello everyone,
I wanted to know what was involved in converting a 1984 nissan 2wheel drive pickup from manual steering to power steering. I was hoping to get the parts from an old nissan pickup from my local auto salvage yard. is there alot involved in doing the conversion? is it possible? :confused: what year pickups were the same style/generation as an 1984 pickup?

Datsun/Nissan pickups of the 720 series (80-86) are the same suspension wise (80 had L20 motor, others had Z motor); wish I could tell you about steering swap, had 82 w/manual steering and traded it cause wife couldn't drive it (should have traded wife & kept truck). Should be easy enough to find parts trucks - worth a try! Good luck!

i did one on a 84 pickup, wasn't very hard, just need the pump, mounts, lines and box. took me about 2 hours to swap it over
