whats the difference_93civchatch_ 11-02-2005, 11:40 AM ok... i was just wondering... whats the difference in the head off a b16a2 and the b18 gsr engine... ? or is there a difference... and when your building an LS/vtec.. which head do you use? im not doing this... it was just on my mind... lol Schister66 11-02-2005, 12:18 PM I don't know for sure, but i would guess that the B16 doesn't flow as much air just because of the fact that it is on a smaller engine......i don't know if i'm right, but it will be interesting to find out the answer!! Ace should know this one.......:grinyes: QUICK_EG_B16A 11-02-2005, 03:09 PM I don't know if the GSR head flows better (probally does) but the only real difference I know of is the GSR has that inverted intake manifold. Schister66 11-02-2005, 03:55 PM i really don't know if the head does flow better, it's more or less a guess......I assume it does because the head is breathing for a bigger engine. Ace$nyper 11-02-2005, 04:05 PM Yes the GSR flows better. Do you want to know only about the head or whole motors? I've had a gsr and a b16 and now a lsvtec using a b16 head. If I could have afforded i'd rather the GSR head but the b16 one works quite well. gsr head ups your comp .5 i'd be sitting at 12:1 hehe _93civchatch_ 11-04-2005, 02:01 PM i had a feeling the gsr head was probably better in some way but wasnt sure... heres another for you guys if you dont mind... is there a difference in the ls block and the gsr block? probably... lol Ace$nyper 11-04-2005, 02:04 PM i had a feeling the gsr head was probably better in some way but wasnt sure... heres another for you guys if you dont mind... is there a difference in the ls block and the gsr block? probably... lol your asumption is correct. the are not the same block. InJ3cted 11-08-2005, 03:36 AM The Gsr head flows better and is a choice for head porters because of their squarer ports. The cams are pretty much the same compared to the 2nd gen b16 InJ3cted 11-08-2005, 03:38 AM your asumption is correct. the are not the same block. gsr has knock, oil squirters and a girdle vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
