I almost got in a head on collision this morning at 60 mph, and after I got back, the first thing I did was fill out the donor information on the back of my drivers licence. What about you, are you an organ donor?

A friend of our family was in a bad accident. They pretty much pronounced him dead at the scene. No one was doing anything to save him. he wasnt breathing, had no pulse. Well when they had him in the ambulance, there was a new paramedic. His trainer told him to practice his CPR on this guy cause hes dead. Well after a few minutes of practice he started breathing again and had a pulse. After that they rushed him to the hospital where he made a full recovery.

The only reason that paramedic did CPR was for practice. They had already announced him dead on the spot.

Yeah, but they didn't rip his guts out on the scene. I'm not really worried about that, because they need to get you to the hospital before they tear you up.

oh yea i remember that when i got my full liscene at 17 I had to have my dad sign its cool hack my dead kid up.

Im not on my license for the same reasons above mentioned. I know its dumb but it makes me feel better. I told my parents though that if I do die that I want to be a donor. So yea I am.

Meh, call it paranoia.. but I've heard that if doctors see youre an organ donor, they wont do all they can to save you. At some point it becomes more economical to start takin shit out for them.

ummmm they only take organs which can be used immediatly if your organs are in shape for usage and they dont hack you up, they try to keep the body' cosmetics as best they can just like in real surggery... the only thing that will make your corpse's apearance change is skin graphs.

George Carlin has a pretty funny skit about organ donors,, saying if they see someone who's been in an accident is an organ donor the first thing they do is look for parts. I also heard this paramedic say that the guy they were looking at after a crash was an organ donor, so "save the other one first," that's pretty fucked up. it's almost as if you're more valued dead than alive,, altho somehow i myself am one..btw skin graphs are disturbing.:bloated:
