have a oil leak problem on a 1985 balzer 2.8L

I just bought a 1985 s10 blazer and had to fix transmission in it had oil leak when i got it thought it was coming from oilsending unit took it off and replaced it still poors oil got to looking and were my oilsending unit screws in and my oil filter screws in is lose will move back and forth its all one big unit that goes into side of block was wondering if there was a way to tighten it up without jerking the motor out maybe a screw that runs into it.

Can you please clarify what you are asking.

Are you talking about the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge?

To be completly honest, I know what unit you are taking about (its the unit that the filter screws onto on the side of the block) but I have no idea if there are external bolts that you can get to without taking the engine out. When i replaced the engine in my 88 i didn't even look at the unit. So i can't tell you how it attaches to the block. But i'm sure the exhaust manifold is in your way.
