1978 Blazer problem, (long)

Hi guys, I'm new here and hope someone can help me.
I just purchased a clean Texas '78 Blazer.
Both vc gaskets were leaking so I decided to replace the gaskets.
On the right side the alt. wires made it difficult to remove cover but I was able to move them. Well after the new gaskets were installed I started it up to check for leaks and noticed the volt gauge not working.
Come to find out the 2 red wires connected to the alt. were ripped from me pulling on the harness. OK, so I reconnected them. And while I was doing that, I pulled back the carpet on drivers side because the floor was wet from rain, and put a fan on it. I did disconnect the neg. on battery while doing electrical repair. I finish wiring repair and reconnect battery, I now have no power to fuse panel. I've got power to starter
and block on firewall, but that's it. Where does the power come in from to the fuse box? I've been trying to figure this out for 2 days and I'm at witts end! Thanks for any help. HosA

Did you prob your fuse box and found nothing. No power at all, including the direct to battery connection?

Hi Gabe, tested fuse box and no power at all. Checked all fuses, OK.
I can't see a main fuse anywhere. It seems like there should be main fuse or fuseable link somewhere?
I have power at starter solonoid, and power to junction block on firewall, the red wire from junction block to alt. is hot as well.
But no power going to fuse box.
Also, I disconnect both neg. terminals (2 batteries) and I still have power at the starter. Is that right? I always thought if you disconnect ground from battery, the vehicle should be dead?

By disconnecting your Neg. wires you should have no power going to your car. It sounds like you have a cross in your Isolator box that controls the charging for your 2 batteries. Is this a after market setup?

No isolater box. Basically it's connected pos. to pos. and neg. to neg.
