94 4.9 E4OD trans tag numbers for used trans

I have a 1994 E250 van in need of a transmission. All the salvage yards need a code off the tag to get me the right trans. This trans was changed under warranty many years ago and has no tag. What would be the big difference on this van I t is a E4OD 6 cylinder van with many miles and not worth a rebuilt.
