Is replacing the oil cooler lines an easy job and one that i could do myself, or do you have to take it in somewhere? Also, what tools do you need to install? Do you have to drain the oil? etc...

You can do it yourself... Really all you require is a 13mm box wrench or 13mm socket and a long extentsion with a swivel for the back one... and some patience...The new lines will also come with new crush washers, USE THEM!

I don't think dorman makes replacement lines for our trucks... I know napa used to have some, but dealer is typically the only place anymore unless you have them custom made...

According to United Auto Parts, Dorman makes a replacement for the oil cooler lines for $40 , i guess i'll try these instead of the $85 Dealer lines

I bought a set for my 98. They are a lot cheaper but they aren't made as well as the originals. One issue with mine was that the factory used a 90 degree connector on the line going to the top of the oil cooler. The dorman uses a 90 degree bend.... the bend sticks out further and rubs the airbox, it could possibly rub a hole in the line. I put a piece of rubber hose over mine to protect it and haven't had any problems.

I recently replaced the oil cooler lines in my 98. It took about an hour to do. I got mine from napa for about $40. But i had to give them a part number, they couldn't look it up by vehicle. But about the air box, i wouldn't have a clue considering i have a cold air intake. good luck!

Wait are their 2 separate parts? i bought one part that has 2 lines on it that goes back near the transfercase, and i get the skid plate off, then i see another one going up alongside the radiator? so are there 2 parts? and a total of 4 lines?

That's correct...usually it's the ones going from the cooler to the engine that leak...

I am replacing both oil cooler lines, fuel filter, PCV valve, and plugs. Then having my auto trans fluid checked as well as my coolant system and all fluids... Buying new MB Motoring Overdrive 15 inch rims with 30inch BF A/T's, i just replaced the front brake pads and rotors. The reason i am asking all these questions is becuase i just bought a 1995 Blazer LT 4door 4x4 with 64k miles on it, its in near perfect shape, but needs a little TLC on the parts, and some rims and tires to make it look good

if you have oil drips under your engine in the morning or after you leave your car alone for a while, check the oil cooler lines, if they are moist with oil at the crimps, where the hoses meet the metal, then you should look into replacing them... you can buy the long one that runs under your car from Dorman about $40, the other one that goes up into the engine you have to buy from a dealer about $65

Dorman sells them both to fit a 96, Can order them from Advance Auto. For a 95 they only seem to have the one though.
