Has anyone had this done? If so what did it cost?

Not sure, but I had a fuel sending unit replaced for about $250 and they take out the tank. Just have them replace the old tank with the new one when you do it. Try Pep Boys.

its easy to change if you have some jack stands to lift the car up to give you access to work.
When I removed one to change the pump I just balanced it on a floor jack and let it down slow.
Just have to unhook the lines and elec. plug.
I also have a tank from a 2000 malibu that needs a home. I am in michigan.
Good Luck
