Guess What I Am Doing Tomorrow!?!?!

You guessed it! I got the Taylor 8mm Red wires, Ac Delco Platinum Plugs as suggested and will check the gap as BlazerLT always suggested. Just wanted to show off my red wires really. Will take some after pics once I am done tomorrow evening!

I know, 8mm wires are probably a waste BUT I could not find red wires in stock anywhere and I saved money getting these over the stock AC Delco wires. I am going for the whole Black Blazer with red trim mixed into it.

Anything I might need to look for when replacing these parts?

I have taylor wires on both my trucks, great wires. I noticed an immediate improvement in performance, and acceleration.

Well I got them from Carquest. The local Albany, Ga Carquest deals with American Performance in Atlanta and they sell Taylor wires. American Performance only does wholesale. They cost me $67 including shipping. They list for about $100 if I am not mistaken but I get a discount because of the car dealership I work at.

Those are absolutely stellar!

Look at the build quality and the cap connections are better than stock.

Well finally got them on tonight. New cap, rotor, wires, and plugs!

Already changed the pcv and fuel filter.

Saturday I am flushing the tranny with this machine at work that pressure cleans it (or something like that). A tech in the shop is doing it for me. Told me it saves me the trouble of replacing the filter because the machine will clean it out. ALSO getting new tires tomorrow. Goodyear Wrangler RTS 235/75/15. I am running 235/70/15 so they will be a tad bit wider but not much. Will post pics of them this weekend in this thread. No need for a new thread.

Really? Maybe I have my sizes backwards then. My knowledge of tires is only slightly above my knowledge of why women are evil .

Ok, I am wrong. I have 235/70/15 on my truck. Can I go to a 235/75/15 on the same rim or would I need to go with something else? Is going a little smaller in width a bad thing?

They will fit prefectly on your stock rim. Thats what I have on my 96, Goodyear Wrangler 235/75/15, good tires great snow and off road traction.

The flush doesn't clean your filter, but it will actually plug it up if it is not new.

Also, do NOT pressure flush this transmission, do a passive fluid change only using the tranny's pump ONLY, no power flushing, or you will be sorry.

The 75's will be a little taller. 70's and 75's are technically the same width, but due to the 75's being slightly taller, the flex in the sidewalls will make them just a hair wider. You're definitely not the first one to think that lower numbers mean wider tires, the lower number means that the tire has a wider ratio when compared to the highth, it doesn't mean that it is physically wider.

This is what the tire size means:
Take "P235/75R15" as an example.
The letter "P" stands for "passenger car". Sometimes, you will see "LT" which stands for "Light Truck"

The "235" means that the tire is 235 millimeters wide.

The "75" means that the sidewall is 75% of the width of the tire. With the tire in this example, that means that the sidewall is 75% of 235mm, which is 176.25mm.

The "15" means that the rim size is 15 inch.

Just had mine done yesterday on a T-tech. What a great machine!!! I was they made a little cheaper version more for home use. I'd make a killing off my friends!!! Very slick - it could even adjust the fluid level too!
