SS/SC Vs. Firebird RacewayBullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 03:49 AM New times are in from tonight w/ KN CAI. Run #1 r/t-.276 60-2.407 330-6.433 1/6-9.630 mph-69.58 1000-12.385 1/4-14.699 mph-98.16 Run #2 r/t-.617 <--I feel asleep or something :uhoh: 60-2.503 330-6.473 1/8-9.671 mph-76.49 1000-12.418 1/4-14.745 mph-98.08 These are the numbers from the supercharged qaud-4 cavy that I ran against in the second run. He's a buddy of mine. It's a 4 door auto. This was the best time he's ever cut in his car. He beat me by a bit cause of the launch and I just about had him at the end, but ran out of track. By 3rd gear I was reeling him in hard but it wasn't enough. r/t-.594 60-2.143 330-6.147 1/8-9.401 mph-75.12 1000-12.242 1/4-14.666 mph-93.29 -The Stig- 10-22-2005, 03:51 AM decent mph. BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 03:54 AM decent mph. 2.5 mph faster than the last time out. It was 79 degrees out and I was using 91 octane. Look at the horrendous 60 foot times. I could run 60 feet faster than that. There is no such thing as launching a stock SS. So much wheel hop it caused my car's brake light, and ABS warning light to come on. They both stayed on till I shut it off then restarted... :lol2: -The Stig- 10-22-2005, 03:58 AM Typical GM... can't launch for shit. Unless it's a Corvette. Fbody's suck balls at launching in stock form. My 60's aren't any better. 2.3-2.4 is my average. Plus shitty 245 tires outback... bleh. BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 04:17 AM Hey, imagine if you had a set of 18's with rubber bands for tires. Then you'd really be in a world of hurt, heh. Mr. Luos 10-22-2005, 10:18 AM My best 60' foot time was a 2.1xx on street tires. Just takes practice. I tend to average around a 2.2xx. -Jayson- 10-22-2005, 12:05 PM good times man. If you could get those 60's down you would be whole lot faster. When i first when to the track with my supercharger i ran a 2.0 60ft, that managed to get me a 14.7, later that night i ran a 2.3 and a 15.1. With the same MPH. Ace$nyper 10-22-2005, 12:05 PM My best 60' foot time was a 2.1xx on street tires. Just takes practice. I tend to average around a 2.2xx. I pull those in a open diff honda :headshake j/k I've driven F-bodies its nearly as hard if not harder to launch them I've gotten a 2.5 :lol2: we all need slicks Mr. Luos 10-22-2005, 12:08 PM The worst I ever did was over 3 seconds. It BLEW the tires off....was quite funny actually. 15.4 at 103MPH. Ace$nyper 10-22-2005, 12:29 PM The worst I ever did was over 3 seconds. It BLEW the tires off....was quite funny actually. 15.4 at 103MPH. hot damn so thats what more then 8 ft lbs at 74K rpm gets you  must have been a wild run! We all need slicks badly. Mr. Luos 10-22-2005, 12:32 PM I need a rear-end...then slicks and I will be good to go with 1.7xx 60's. That was a funny run. I could barely believe the slip. I knew it was bad....but I didn't think it was that bad. Ace$nyper 10-22-2005, 12:34 PM I need a rear-end...then slicks and I will be good to go with 1.7xx 60's. That was a funny run. I could barely believe the slip. I knew it was bad....but I didn't think it was that bad. oh yea F bodies do need a good rear also. me I just need lifetime return pepboy axles :lol2: my friend has been cutting 1.7 1.8s on slicks in his race car on them for a year or so I bet they hate him. BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 12:41 PM good times man. If you could get those 60's down you would be whole lot faster. No way in hell the 60's are coming down with this suspension/tire setup. The only way to get it out of the hole without insane wheel hop is to take off at idle, as if I was coming away from a stoplight...in some what of a hurry. I need smaller wheels, better tires and poly inserts for my engine/tranny. Then I can get the power to the ground. Thanks for the encouraement tho mang. BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 01:06 PM I really have no clue :lol2: Mason posted it in OT. Haha. it's ugly as hell whatever it is. For the record, I've been saying mang for about 9 years now. I'm pretty sure I coined the term in that spelling as well. It was me poking fun of my Mexican buddies from south phoenix. :lol2: drftk1d 10-22-2005, 03:05 PM yeah and i invernted the internet...pshhh BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 03:06 PM yeah and i invernted the internet...pshhh Don't tell that to Mr. Gore. 2000LS1Z28 10-22-2005, 04:23 PM 2.5 mph faster than the last time out. I'm sure that will eliminate the majority of the hop. My best 60' on street tires is a 2.2 sec. 60'. I have yet to see anyone post a 2.0 sec. 60' in an F body at the track I go to, and I go there quite often. Of course it is possible with an automatic equipped car though. Nice times though. I know some dude from another board that has a 97 T/A and he is running a 14.3 sec. 1/4 mile at 98 mph. I believe he lives somewhere in PA. Yeah, the mph is good for a lower 14 sec run, but damn, this thing will not hook up. No one has any poly bushings yet so I'm kinda stuck in this wheel hop muck for a while. However, someone does have a torque brace that mounts from the shock tower to the block that is supposed to help considerably with the hop. It's only about $120 and takes all of 10 minutes to install. I think I'll go with one of those for the time being. street_racer_00 10-22-2005, 07:01 PM Good mph, nearly 5 mph FASTER than the cavy that beat you that 2nd run...he straight up owned you in the first 60' though street_racer_00 10-22-2005, 07:02 PM P.S...that one dude from Swisha House with the platinum teeth is the ugliest mother fucker alive. BullDog71ss 10-22-2005, 07:52 PM Yeah, he pulled a good 3-4 lengths or so within the first 5 seconds of the race. I was surprised at how hard I was pulling him in at the end though. This is why I say it's so much more at home on the highway. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
