Ok SO I want to replace my dim fog lights with a brighter bulb. What size are the fog light bulbs and any recomendations on really bright lights without switching to HID or antyhing like that? Also what are the brightest headlight bulbs you can buy without making the switch to HALOS or HID stuff?

The foglamps that came as part of the trim package on my '95 take 55 Watt H-4's. I think you can find 65 and 75 Watt H-4 bulbs, but - I am wary. 1) It may blind oncoming traffic at night. 2) Higher wattage bulbs may melt the plstic housing that retains the reflector, projector lenses and dichoric filter.

Halogen bulbs dim as they age, and replacing for stock 55's will restore them to "better than I can ever remember" status without going overboard. ;)

The brightest there is to work *legally* on the roads in all 50 states is 55 Watts.

Exactly... Anyone else find people who drive around with fog lights on for no apparent reason really annoying? I'm honestly not saying that anyone here does it but blinding everyone does nothing but set you up for a head-on... I've seen it happen.

Uh - I do. I live in an area that has a huge population on deer and other animals. It is also an area that doesn't use a lot of street lights. So to answer your question - yes I drive with my fog/driving lights on most of the time. I do ensure they are aimed just under what is considered annoying to most vehicles but you can never make everyone happy.

Yeah - I do too (drive with fog lights on alot). I live in an area with all kinds of children and animals in the neighborhood roads and deer on the interstate at night. I don't really care if it hurts their wittle eyes. :( Anything that puts more light (legally) between me and an obstruction at night is going to be there, no matter how much they flick their high beams at me. I have aftermarket fog lights under the front bumper, and I have them set to just above the road surface at about 50 feet. In populated areas, no one cares (they aren't so used to the dark), but I do get some flicks in the country, to which I flick my high beams back and then they see that IS the low beam setting. :)
