Performance Exhaust question

I just had a performance muffler put on my 98 blazer (4.3L) at midas. The inlet pipe on the muffler looks to be the same size diameter as the factory pipe goin to it, but the outlet pipe on the muffler is larger in diameter then the factory tail pipe so they downsized the outlet pipe with another piece of pipe, probably a very common thing to do.

My question is if i got a new tail pipe installed that is the same diameter as the outlet pipe on the muffler would that make it louder and/or decrease performance due to not enough back pressure?

Won't change a thing, drive your truck. You have the 2.25" coming in.

What brand did you have installed?

I'm not exactly sure what brand they installed, they said it was about equivalent to a flowmaster 40.
Also I believe there is a resonator on my truck would it cause any problems if i have that removed?

That might be an actual second cat so be careful, removing too many things might have the exhaust sounded raspy and extremely poor.

How about recording a sound clip for all of us to enjoy and comment on?

Its cylinder shaped and its before the cat

well in order for me to record a sound clip i would either have to move my computer outside or pull my truck upstairs
