Hello, I'm new to this forum, I've learn a lot from lurking here the last week or so.

I recently purchased a '98 Blazer 4x4 two doo, with a 4.3, and 62,000 miles on it.

I put new spark plugs in it (Bosch platnum 2)

Changed to oil to moble 1 5w30

Flushed out the dex-cool and put in the normal "green stuff". I did this at a shop that I know and trust. And I plan on doing a reflush in a month or so, just to make sure all the dex-cool is out. I also changed out the stock radiator cap when this was done.

In the near future I plan on having the Transmission flushed out and putting in Moble 1 atf. I also plan on switching to synthitic gear oil in my transfer case and differentials.

My question to you, the Blazer community, is....... Other than what I've already done or am planing on doing is there anything else I should do or check out on my vehicle. Is there any quirks about these vehicles that I should know about and address before there is a problem. I mostly drive highway miles, but a lot are on snowy wintery roads, and some climbing trips I go on invole miles of dirt roads.

You help and tips are greatly appreciated.

Welcome!

not a fan of the Bosch plugs ...

recommend ACDelco's ... they were made for your truck ! Do a search and you'll probably find alot of folks agreeing ...

yes, right on, change that tranny and diff fluid ... don't forget the tranny filter ...

Along those lines, I'd be looking at doing a COMPLETE tunup right about now at 62K ... buy a Haynes manual and see what tuneup items are recommended at 60K+

enjoy your truck !

Alignment? Something that would be maybe necesary if you will be driving it on the highway. At least I know that's what I did when I bought my Blazer and when I bought my Cavalier. Also I changed the spark plugs and plug wires.....ACDelco's in both vehicles. Allthough I don't have my Blazer anymore. Oh and get a KN&N filter. Not really needed, but a good cheap thing to upgrade and last for a while along with great quality.
