i just got a couple of price qoutes for replacing the vent window front drivers side on my 93 park ave...they want 700 dollars for a new window.... there is no way im paying that for a car that only cost 2000 to buy used. so here is what i want to do... i have access to lexan sheets to make a new window out of (btw.. lexan is what they make nascar windshields out of)... so how do i get the widow molding removed safely and install... what im asking is a walk thru for replacing the vent window.. any and all help would bring a big smile to my face..... :p

The same procedure should apply to the front also.

theres plenty of great parts for park avenues in junkyards. Even some parts for similar aged cadillac devilles and buick lesabres are compatible too.

My 91 PA has a rear window from a lesabre (doesnt fit exactly, but it works with some added weatherstripping), a trunk latch switch and drivers seatbelt from a 92 cadillac deville, and side mirrors from a lesabre.

Looks like a mix and match, but runs like a dream with only 93000 miles, and brand new struts :)

not to boast but i had my driver quarter window replaced and installed for $45 at a junkyard/mechanic place. Gee i didn't know it was soo expensive to get a new one. $300 is insane for that little window. I'd say a junkyard is the way to go....parts for the mid 90's park avenues and le sabres should be a dime a dozen here in the states.

i finaly found one in the local pick-n-pull that was in good enuf shape to make me happy.... most of them had all sorts of rust on the metal bracket that holds the window..
took me five minutes to take it out... cost me 22.79 and five minutes to install.... btw.. the window came from a 97 lesabre... works great.
thanks for all your help guys. this place rocks!!!!  :grinyes:
