End of race seasonscottsee 10-18-2005, 12:55 AM Well boy/girls... It's about that time. End of the 2005 race season. Who actually acomplished somthing? or made improvements or modifications to their car this year? I ended up blowing my t-25,s mokes like a whore.. I did finelly get a 1g cylinder head, intake manifold, N/A TB to compleate the 6bolt in the garrage. I didn't get or do anything exciting this year. It was a really weird summer. Work sucked, I never really had alot of extra cash this summer... But did acquire (not installed) a 255hp w/ rewire, B-shaft elim kit @ (installed) 3in turbo back. To bad my t-25's gone. I know I would have gone 13.7 this year with that exhaust.. I did 14.08 with my stock POS exhaust. Winter projects: I'll probably accure dsmlink before christmass. There is a certian ebay store that has been almost give it away at $399. E-mailed the dudes at dsmlink.com and it's all ligit. just need to get my EPROM ecu socketed.. Other then that. I don't see any other winter projects. I would love to get PTE new Ball Bearing turbos from thespeedfactor.com Its a fucking steal at $875. I might also try and accuire a G4CS crankshaft for the 6bolt if i can find one for under $45. I dont know. Thats a tough one, I havn't really decited if I want to spend $500 for stroker pistons w/ 1g rods... The pistons alone would be double almost tripple what I peiced this 6bolt together for. Might not be cost effective. Other then that, Unless I can acquire an Aermotive AFPR for $100 shipped that about all the ambitions i have for this winter. If it's a bad winter this year the GSX will be taking a nap untill spring. How was everyone year? any planns this winter?? l_eclipse_l 10-18-2005, 01:22 AM I plan on putting the bitch away for the winter, in a nice and cozy storage facility. When spring comes, hopefully I will have saved enough for a DC Sports 4-2-1 header and custom 2.25" exhaust. Donno, with these school bills and gas costs and whatnot, might not happen but I plan on trying. I know I know, who gives a shit modding a N/T..... EDMUND65 10-18-2005, 01:31 AM Put way to much time and money into this car, prolly over 4,000$ and accomplished nothing but a headache.... and many many hrs of working on it... gunna sell it if its not to big a loss and get a newer car, with less problems...... was looking for that dream car 97-99 silver eclipse convertable turbo 5 speed..... crunchymilk55 10-18-2005, 01:36 AM completely redid the car, but then again, my racing season is all year Blackcrow64 10-18-2005, 01:52 AM Well, I didn't even have a chance to get out to the track this summer between work and school. Next summer will be good though. This winter I plan on redoing my intake setup with the GM MAF and Translator, throw a ported super 16g on, a front mount intercooler, 3" magnaflow turbo-back, change my fuel setup and eliminate accessories I don't need... Got everything sittin in the garage except the piping and intercooler... Maybe I'll redo my interior black with carbon fiber accents? Not sure yet though... spyderturbo007 10-18-2005, 08:15 AM Let's see..... This summer I installed an EVO III 16g, 190lph FP, 650cc Injectors, dynoed at 242.5whp (stock exhaust), RRE UICP and picked up a color palm. That B/W m105 was getting on my nerves. Upgraded to slotted/dimpled rotors and new pads and I'm replacing the slave cylinder on Thursday along with the oil pressure sending unit. Friday is a thorough wash/wax/clean out the car day and by Friday evening, she should be all tucked away under her blanket for the winter. Damn, it's going to be a long winter. Thor06 10-18-2005, 08:16 AM We are going to keep working on the interior, still need to paint some, then racing seats and harness bar. In a couple weeks we are going to get a MBC, intake and K&N filter and thats probably going to be it for a little while. Then comes DSM link and laptop in december followed by a walbro 255, some 680-720cc injectors in january and febuary, GM MAF and translator after that, then a FMIC and BOV in the spring around may, then a 20g this summer. Hopefully we will get it done by next fall. We kinda want to get as much done as we can before we move out and have other bills to worry about. Hopefully my brother will buy my Cavy this winter and I get a DSM of my own :evillol:. That will immediately get gutted and thrown into the mod process. david-b 10-18-2005, 11:12 AM I got my exhaust on this year. Just a bunch of minor stuff too, like short shifter and all that jazz. Over the winter, Ill get: -SAFC2 (January) -Good ole tune-job -Powdercoated Valve cover -Ported TB -Josh- 10-18-2005, 11:47 AM Accomplished nothing, hoping this winter will give me more time than my busy summer. Got the recirc kit on the way. Going to get dsmlink Getting a 3" Down pipe Getting some Cams, HKS cams anyway And that will be it for the winter. david-b 10-18-2005, 07:27 PM Tires will probably be in the winter too. My low profiles are wrecked big time. Car slides out when making a turn in the rain kinda fast. And maybe, just maybe... drop the tranny, new flywheel, clutch, TOB, and pressure plate. Also fix the little crack on the top. vanilla gorilla 10-18-2005, 07:45 PM Put way to much time and money into this car, prolly over 4,000$ and accomplished nothing but a headache.... and many many hrs of working on it... gunna sell it if its not to big a loss and get a newer car, with less problems...... was looking for that dream car 97-99 silver eclipse convertable turbo 5 speed..... Too bad you dont live where I do, because I saw your dream car for sale about a month ago, but it only took a week for someone to buy it. :( cbell77 10-18-2005, 08:08 PM I got a new car this summer selling the old eclipse after much fun and nice driving. The winter I plan on having to wake up early to start up the car in the morning every morning. Put a new interior in and go cruising on the weekends with my bud and his chevelle. 4g63gst20 10-19-2005, 09:00 AM well let's see. this summer i finnaly started boosting, after i sold my RS. my gst was completly stock. all i ever did to it was oil pressure/boost/water temp gauges, an inatake. i got my 1g BOV waiting for the adapter thing to get here and install it. and that's gonna be it for now. then on the winter. if i can find a 14b at a junky yard if not then i'll go with the evo III 16g and 1g intake manifold and TB, i was thinkin 650's FI, then 3" turbo-back, and hopefully when summer comes back. dsmlink ez1286 10-19-2005, 10:57 AM I broke my Talon and crashed my eclipse :disappoin plans for winter: get money from allstate for accident, get talon running, paint talon, and find a new daily driver. kjewer1 10-20-2005, 09:12 AM Sold the 2g Sold the truck Sold the POScort Bought and sold the 91 Bought the EVO, and got it down to 12.19 at 113.7 with an exhaust, filter, and cams. A good time for sure, but not nearly as cool as ending last season at 11.3 at 126 with a blown motor on that pass :D Edit> Not done yet though! Track doesnt close until the end of the month, and the rescheduled Import event is this saturday. Hoping for 11s with the new clutch, if the tranny holds. DragonofBC 10-20-2005, 03:59 PM During the year, I made some good progress on the car. I installed a Evo16g, rewired the fuel pump, am having a 190 installed this weekend, put in an MBC, and fixed numerous other problems. I wish I could lock it away for the winter but it's my only car. Don't worry, I'll shoulder the responsibility of making sure E/T/Ls are respected on the road while all of your monsters sleep. With mother nature as my intercooler, I will prevail! As for plans for the car, I'm looking very intently at DSMLink. I'd hope to have that, and some 650-670cc injectors by the end of the year. Next spring, I'll go for the exhaust and hopefully late next year, I'll do the intercooler. As soon as I move to a place without a sloped driveway (I learned not to try to jack up a car on a sloped driveway by the way), I'm thinking about really getting into some custom mods for the car. The tranny is starting to get a bit stiff so I was thinking of fabricating the connections to swap the gearbox off my Huffy. I'll have the sweetest 15 speed Eclipse on the planet. Don't worry, if it happens, I'll post lots of pictures and a very detailed description of the work... kjewer1 10-25-2005, 08:10 AM Well, the track may still be open up here, but the traction must have gone south for the winter. I can't get below a 2.0 sixty foot time, which is absolutely unacceptable. Stock EVO tires suck in the cold. I have some more appropriate tires on the way in time for the last week of the season. Why do I even bother... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
