1999 Saturn SC2shudson 10-17-2005, 08:33 PM My Saturn takes spells were it will not start. DEAD. The chime and radio fuse has to be pulled and put back in for it to start again. Why is it doing this? ASE_Tek0312 10-28-2005, 03:16 PM does it happen on humid days? shudson 10-29-2005, 07:12 AM does it happen on humid days? I can't recall if it was humid when this has happened, except for the last time, which was about 10 days ago. It wasn't humid. Could the humidity have something to do with it? ASE_Tek0312 10-31-2005, 02:58 PM well it could if the wire insulation has been torn or maybe a mechanic poked a hole in it with a T pin or something. where do you live? shudson 11-01-2005, 04:13 PM Kentucky well it could if the wire insulation has been torn or maybe a mechanic poked a hole in it with a T pin or something. where do you live? ASE_Tek0312 11-02-2005, 03:08 PM well if kentucky is normally humid then it might cause it but Im not a weather man. You have to take out fuses and put the same ones back in for it to start? when it doesnt start, does it seem like the batteries dead? sierrap615 11-02-2005, 07:43 PM the chime fuse control the stock secaruty system, perhaps there is a fault there. inspect the fuse holder for a loose fuse terminal. also do you have a aftermarket radio? Dennyav 11-03-2005, 09:25 PM Hi Shudson, I'm curious about how you found out that pulling the chime and radio fuse caused the car to start. Did you pull the fuse and then it started? My daughters car '98 SL would do that because the battery wasn't fully charged by the alt. and the starting load was too high unless she pulled the fuses. Dennyav 11-03-2005, 09:31 PM BTW, how dead is dead? Could be that the technician who worked on the car didn't tighten up the battery connection well. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
