B&G Suspension InstallDprotech 07-31-2001, 11:23 AM Heads up! Well folks its been a while since I posted anything ..goddamit even Smackdown has more posts than me. I'm happy to report that when I'm quiet it means I'm working on a secret mission. This time its the B&G Coilover Install which is scheduled for this Friday. The B&G Distributor here wants a write up for this install and will put it up in an import car magazine as a promotional piece. So I'm really excited about that. At the same time I'm getting the front bumper, eyelids and Splitters painted. I'll be there taking pictures of the install so expect to see more quality photos. Nismoboy1 07-31-2001, 12:06 PM wow, can't wait to see how this turns out, i've heard nothing but great stuff about this setup from the b15sentra guys, so i hope it turns out good for you also... i plan on doing a "TOP SECRET" install too :finger: lol i'm gonna use some stuff that i don't think anyone here has used yet on their p11. i'll let you know how that turns out in the coming weeks to follow btw, what magazine are they gonna publish the install in??? or is that "hush hush" also ? ;) Dprotech 08-09-2001, 12:37 PM Small delay in delivery ..will only be receiving the shipment next tuesday. However to save on shipping cost I had my friend bring them over for me. I have an extra pair and will open up a bidding session on it . Sleepy 08-10-2001, 02:43 PM dprotech when do you plan on opening the bidding up on them? Dprotech 09-20-2001, 10:08 PM Well I just got back from the shop and took these pictures for you guys so you can see what the car will look like after the install. These are what the coilovers look like Dprotech 09-20-2001, 10:09 PM Here is a pic of the car from the side ..note that this is not the full drop but only halfway Dprotech 09-20-2001, 10:10 PM here is another view..you can just see the coils on this one Dprotech 09-20-2001, 10:14 PM a full size pic as the grand finale. wickedG20 09-20-2001, 10:41 PM looks very good. did you have it on the lowest setting? how much of a drop? Sleepy 09-21-2001, 12:24 AM dude thats sweet lookin how much is the setup? Dprotech 09-21-2001, 12:44 AM Originally posted by wickedG20 looks very good. did you have it on the lowest setting? how much of a drop? According to the dudes that installed it for me ..its less than a third of how low it can go. We're letting the coils settle before I decide how I like the ride height and feel. MOre to come as I drive it. SO far the car is handling so much better. I can put more power to the wheel during starts and cornering without worries. The whole setup cost me $2500 including tax ..that is in canadian dollars. I just wanted to add that this includes install, wheel alignment and corner weighting. wickedG20 09-21-2001, 12:52 AM thats pretty expensive. even the teins which I thought were EXPENSIVE are cheaper, hehe :D But I guess its worth it. Your car handles much better now and it looks better too G22DET 09-21-2001, 12:58 AM $2500 CND...that's a lot of money...and it doesnt come with top pillowball mount??? the JIC is $1450 and comes with pillowball mount....but it's a race set up though. primera man 09-21-2001, 05:32 AM Cars looking nice....maybe just a wee bit my of a drop ??? P10DET 09-21-2001, 10:13 AM Originally posted by G22DET $2500 CND...that's a lot of money...and it doesnt come with top pillowball mount??? the JIC is $1450 and comes with pillowball mount....but it's a race set up though. That's actually not too bad since it's in Canadian dollars and in includes installation, alignment, and corner weighting. My only reservation is that it doesn't come with real race springs. Real race springs like the Eibach ERS are ground flat top and bottom. You have a large selction of rates and lengths available with race springs. Are those helper spings or tender springs (helper springs just keep the main springs seated under full droop)? G-Forces 09-21-2001, 10:29 AM Hmm, so I bet you didn't measure the length of the shock bodies and shocks compared to the originals? That would have been a nice bit of info to have. Also I'm with geo on this one, I was hoping they would give you liner springs in the kit. But it looks fine for a street setup. I can't wait to see how the perform. I guess my next suspension setup will be the JIC's. :) Oh yeah also guys don't forget Canadian dollars are worth a LOT less than your greenback. $1.00US ~= $1.50CDN. Dprotech 09-21-2001, 11:55 AM Well you know what ..since I have pictures I can extrapolate the lengths off of the picture I took ..and since I have the original ..i can measure those too ..so with that said ..i'll have those dimensions for you ....once I get around to it.:o G-Forces 09-21-2001, 12:37 PM I'd trust that about as much as a butt dyno. :p:p Mrcoilover 09-21-2001, 02:34 PM Even with the Canada/US $conversion. How would you figure that out. I'm not the best math student there is but I ain't stupid. You know how education is these days. You never remember anything past 9th grade or something. Don't comment on the intelligence thing. I just want to know how many U.S. dollars that is. The drop is very tight. 2 questions.dprotech 1. how does it ride-harsh on bumps? 2. very bouncy?:bloated: Dprotech 09-21-2001, 03:08 PM 2 questions.dprotech 1. how does it ride-harsh on bumps? 2. very bouncy?:bloated: [/B][/QUOTE] Howdy Mr Coilover... well I'm going to give it a few days to get a better overall feel for it. So far the ride is amazing. It swallows up road cracks easily but has a loud sound when going over Toronto's deep manhole covers (I do try to avoid them). The best part about it is the handling and take off. The coilovers seem to do a really good job keeping the wheels planted on terra firma. I am taking corners with greater and greater confidence, the car just wants to be pushed. I don't know if any of you ever felt this in the P11, that when you go around corners the rear wheels feels like it is steering with ya almost as if the car had 4 wheel steering. When the car was stock I felt that, then with the Eibach that seemed to dissappear and now its back...and I love it. I think the stock shock and Eibach combination are definitely mismatched. Coilovers vs Eibach ? B&G definitely feels more forgiving and better travel. Mrcoilover 09-21-2001, 03:26 PM interesting...... The way it sits in the pics are phenominal(sp). Thats just how I would have it. Maybe have fender hide some of the tire. Good job. DUDE!:ylsuper Nismoboy1 09-21-2001, 04:37 PM 2500 CND ~ $1600 USD , thats really not bad at all, B+G is a very good company also...these are 12 way adjustable, right??? btw looks very tight :D Dprotech 09-21-2001, 06:25 PM Originally posted by Nismoboy1 2500 CND ~ $1600 USD >>Yup cheaper than buying them at that place online, shipping and installing, not to mention alignment and corner weighting , thats really not bad at all, B+G is a very good company also...these are 12 way adjustable, right??? >>Actually they are self adjusting depending on how you are driving. Don't really know how ..but thats what makes B&G Different. btw looks very tight :D >>Thanks :) blkghst3 09-21-2001, 10:23 PM that is drop is what i am looking for. how much is the whole setup without the installations? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
