Any suggestions when replacing a PS rack on an '01?

This van has over 120K miles and I just replaced the PS pump because it was whining. I flushed and bled the system afterwards and the whining almost stopped except during some left turns so I think the rack control valve may be sticking or worn. Anyway, the rack is leaking from the right boot and there is a lot play when I move the tire in and out so its due to be changed. How hard of a job is it and are there any tricks to make the job easier?

I would get the van up on jackstands weight off of the tires. Remove the tires, measure the adjustment of the outter tierod adjustment so you can get it back to close to being right so you can drive it to get it alined. This might be tough to do with the worn inner tierod on one side.

Losten the nut for the toe adjustment and remove the inner tierod from the outter tierod on both sides. Remove the oil lines. Remove the mounting bolts and bring out the rack from the wheel well.

Reverse to install.
