93' 4Runner Rear Window

My rear (tailgate) window won't roll down or up with the key switch located in the tailgate... however, it will roll up if it is already in the down position when it's operated by the console switch up front. The side view mirror buttons don't work either, this may be related, not sure. Does anyone recall this issue on their own Runners? Thanks for any input.

open the rear door, take off the carpet, unscrew the door plate, take off the plastic, and look at the window carryers. I have a 95 runner and the window carryers decinegrated from rust this may be your problem. if not, you may also have a wirering problem,not related to your mirrors.

If it was the rails it would work from either switch.
It will be the wiring at the tailgate itself because you CAN operate from the console.
Start checking at the relay box it could be the culprit, wiring, or the switch in the tailgate.
Best scenario is a wire has disconnected from the rear switch. worse, is the relay box they're spendy even used.
