Call your local Dealer.

There is a TSB or recall out on it.

They add a "rainhat" or something like that.

Shouldn't be any charge

IT can also screw up the resistor on the blower motor and cause it to short out.

I have this same problem with the water on the floor board, and called my Ford dealership. They tried to tell me there is no such recall, but they could take the cowling out and clean it, said the problem is due to a "clog" in the cowling due to living in a forested area with pineneedles and such. I live in an extremely rainy area (it's raining now :/ ) and this is a huge problem. There is also a problematic leak around the trunk somewhere on the left that I cannot narrow down for the life of me. It runs down the left and into the Spare wheel basin. I hate when companie don't back up their own recalls, no matter how silent they may be.

You don't say what year you have but the recall was for the 01 and 02 I believe. They install a rain hat kit and it is a recall.

As for the water in the rear, does it actually wind up where the spare tire is or is it in the lefthand corner of the rear wheel well?

If it is in the rear wheel well it is not leaking from the top it is coming up from the bottom when you drive.

There are vent plugs on both sides of the carin the bottom of the wheel well. It is plastic and black and is intended to let water run out. The problem is a vaccuum or something is created when it is raining and you are going down the highway and water is actually sucked in thru the drain.

Let me know if you want it explained further.

Tried cleaning cabin air filter ...made water shield cover filter better..
and siliconed the body seams that run across roof to windshield rubber molding ... did all this at one time so don't know which one worked but no more water in footwell...a little dab of sillicone under the rubber molding where the two seams run under it.....i thought water might run down the channels and inside the cowl i did front and back and used clear sillicone do this when warm as possible so moulding car be lifted up to get it underneath and it will not be visable got lucky when i saw water on floor unpluged fan removed and drained it sprayed WD40 into it when it dried it was fine ..........Good luck ArcWelder
