Went out this morning, 11:10am. Inserted key. Turned Key in ignition. Would not start. Sounded as if no spark??? Fiddled around with wires 'n' plugs. NOTHING!!! Got pissed slammed hood walked away. Got depressed for a half hour. Went back. Took off the main short wire (not sure what to call it) . But anyway it was wet and dirty and slightly rusted. Cleaned it with a lolli-pop stick. got back in started. after about 4 tries. very hesitent at first. once it started puttin i just floored it. and she came back 2 life. but now coolant running out with the quickness. and almost sounded like the waterpump bearing was in destress. After taking the blazer out for a quick test drive waterpump sound went away. coolant nonstop tho. I know what the leak is due to tho. My biggest prob is is this gonna happen everytime my truck gets wet or rain or dew or a mist is involved.

I've had problems with starting on damp or rainy days with past vehicles. Everytime it was the wires. Sounds like this might be your problem too. But short wire I'm guessing it's the coil wire - you didn't say what it runs to. If the wires are old then it might be time to change them and if they are new then try cleaning out the rust best you can and drop some dielectric grease in then reconnect.

I agree with muzzy, slave a good amount of dialectric grease on both the plug and the cap ends and that should cure your moisture prob... What's up with the coolant leak?

also moisture in the distributor cap can cause some serious starting issues.

Every time I had someone's engine not start, we took a hair dryer out and heated the cap to get rid of the moisture for 5 minutes and it started right up.

But as rlith say, you need to get some contact cleaner out and clean that connetion with something more than a lollipop stick.

The coolant leak may be spraying coolant back on the cap and wires and ign.
It may be telling you It is About time to fix the coolant leak!!!
Good Luck
