I have a blown motor in what otherwise is a clean inside and out car. Stepdaughter thought the oil light being on meant she had some. From the teen jargon it sounds as if 1 of the mains spun. With gas prices going the way they are would it be reasonable to have the motor done and where could I locate 1 thats in good order-this 1 has about 110K on it . They want 2K for totally rebuilt--1.5K for a refurbished and money is at a premium. Would a junk yard motor be a good choice or does anyone have a better solution. I'm in Long Island NY so if you know anyone here that has a motor they don't need tell'em you found someone Thanks for your time---Chris.

a spun main bearing can sometimes destory a block beyond repair. i suggest a junkyard or Ebay.com. 1991 or 1992 with the same style head(DOHC/SOHC) will work other years will not without replacing the pcm
