99 rodeo wont starthangman412 10-12-2005, 10:13 PM wifes 99 rodeo wont start after sitting overnight. motor spins, but will not "fire" for about 10-15 minutes. soon as it does fire up, you can turn it off and restart no problem. the motor is brand new, replaced 6,000 miles ago with a factory crate v6 $6,000.00 (thank you mr. isuzu may i have another) only thing i can guess is fuel pump leaking down pressure during the night, but doesnt make sense since it wont prime itself right up.... fuelpump is a dealer only item (go figure it would be anyway else) and is $300.00 (real shocker). Anyone else have this problem before or ideas? going crazy husband amigo-2k 10-12-2005, 11:11 PM maybe the fuel pressure regulator? See the FAQ's I would buy this for the price but maybe it is a faulty fuel relay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-Isuzu-Rodeo-Honda-Passport-Fuel-Pump-Assembly_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33555QQitemZ80 06725508QQrdZ1 amigo-2k 10-12-2005, 11:18 PM here is one with a chart that says a 1998 2.2L pump is the same: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-OEM-ISUZU-FUEL-PUMP-1998-2002-RODEO-PASSPORT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33555QQitemZ80 05557240QQrdZ1 and here is one for 50 bucks: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Isuzu-Amigo-FUEL-PUMP-and-SENDER-UNIT-1998_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33555QQitemZ800644 2772QQrdZ1 hangman412 10-19-2005, 05:40 PM got the POS out of the shop today, found out that 2 grounds for the fuel injection system had worked themselves loose somehow. thus preventing the fuel injectors from firing off when the motor was cold. $75 service fee from Isuzu...... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
