CEL Code P0442George G. 10-11-2005, 04:32 PM I got another code last week. Took it to Autozone and came up with P0442 Evap Emission System Leak (small). So the guy looks up a A/C evaporator core and says they don't carry it...is it me or was he a little :screwy: I'm thinking possibly vapor canister in the fuel system..if the Rodeo is equipped with one. Can someone shed some information? I searched but no info came up on the code. Also, unrelated, I've been having a noise coming from the right side of the engine bay intermittently when I apply the brake normally. Sounds like a fast clicking sound or fluttering sound for about a second. I've already had the ABS module replaced under warranty a few years ago. ABS light is not on....any ideas? I searched and found a post where a guy found a replacement on Ebay...I may do that if I can confirm that it's bad. TIA. Canucklehead 10-11-2005, 04:44 PM I got another code last week. Next time you get a CEL, get the code read and go here (http://www.troublecodes.net/isuzu/iszuobd2.shtml). You can get troule code info at AllData.com if you have a DIY account. An easy thing to try is to tighten your gas cap. A loose gas cap (could also be caused by the vapor canister or fuel tank pressure sensor) is the usual cause of the Evap Leak code. :2cents: amigo-2k 10-11-2005, 05:10 PM yup, 99% of the time it is the gas cap. George G. 10-12-2005, 09:43 AM Checked the gas cap and could see several cracks around the seal. I tightened it up and the CEL is gone. I'll pick up a new one this week. Any thoughts on the ABS? Hoping someone had this same issue. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
