1996 camry will not startDave200 10-10-2005, 05:17 PM I have a 1996 toyota camry with California emission, that i bought with a blown motor ( it over heated really bad causing some of the plastic to melt) I replaced the motor with a federal emission motor but transfered over the oil pump housing, timing belt gears on crank shaft, crank sensor, EGR valve and some of the vacume lines. The motor turns over but would not start. I was told that it may be that the crank sensor may be faulty. Itried testing the resistance and got a value of 1300 ohms. I dont know the value that it should be. If anyone knows, I would greatly apreciate this info. Also ianyone have any idea about this problem please let me know csaxon 10-10-2005, 05:37 PM Toysrme 10-10-2005, 08:21 PM 835-1600ohm. There is no California / Federal emessions 1mz-fe. There's just the 1mz-fe which is ULEV compliant - making it pas emessions for probably the next 40-60 years. Spark, fuel, compression & all at the same time. Make sure the cams are turning over & timed correctly, make sure you have spark & make sure there's fuel in the rail & the injectors are squirting. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
