red/clear tails DIY?m3kidds 05-18-2002, 10:24 AM is it possible to clear out that nasty orange tail lenses on my 97 coupeż or my only option is spending $$$? CXHatchback 05-19-2002, 01:10 AM You can't clear them out, but youcan always paint them red. Silverbolt 05-22-2002, 03:13 PM There is this awsome liquid they use in japan to clear out thier orange tail lights. They just poor it into the housing, let it sit inside and it eats away at the orange and turns it clear! "Set it, and forget it!" (stupid info-mercials haha) Protek 05-22-2002, 03:15 PM Originally posted by Silverbolt There is this awsome liquid they use in japan to clear out thier orange tail lights. Silverbolt 05-30-2002, 06:35 AM Sorry, I only know of it.. and not how to get my hands on them. Wish I could be more helpful :) Xplocivic 05-30-2002, 10:44 AM DO NOT SAND PLASTIC!!!! YOU WILL RUIN YOUR LENSES! Seriously, its way easier to just go out and find some all clears, because from that point on you will have a canvas to work from, I think I have painted mine 3 times now and the results are always pretty good. dudewheresmycar 06-21-2002, 08:36 PM you could put it in the microwave Quetzolcotl 06-22-2002, 11:07 AM i guess you could try going to a paint store and look at solvents/laquer and see if any of those would work. just make sure it won't disolve plastic too. m3kidds 06-22-2002, 07:01 PM i'm about to pick up 2G tails from this kid for like 50 bucks .. :flash: so i'll have to forget about my plan to do it myself... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
