All my gauges stopped working!BradJal 10-06-2005, 05:23 PM Hello Everyone. I'm new to this list and in a real pickle! I have owned a 98 Dodge ram 1500 since new. I turned the key on yesterday and non of the dash gauges were working, no speedo, tack, fuel ect. The milage indicator is flashing, abs light is on, low fuel light is on ( just fueled up). The pannel does light up when the lights are turned on, truck drives normal, radio works fine. Called the dealer, they said about 300 bucks to find out what the problem is. Any suggestions? Brad Hi BradJal, John M. here. I have a 97 Ram 1500. I checked the shop manual I have for it. It is a bit different than your 98. Both show outputs from the PCM(PowertrainControlModule) going to the Instruments but no wiring sheet on the PCM. I also could find NO fuses for the instruments(might be on the PCM) I would check all of the connectors connected to the PCM. Hopefully, one of them might be loose. Wish I could be more help. Let us know what finally fixes it. John M. BradJal 10-07-2005, 11:23 AM Hi BradJal, John M. here. I have a 97 Ram 1500. I checked the shop manual I have for it. It is a bit different than your 98. It must be a loose wire or connection so im checking over it all today and will report back in. I have owned this truck since new and its the first problem its ever had. Milage is 190,000 K now. Brad Hi Brad, in my manual, for the 98 ram it shows only 1 wire leaving the PCM going to the instrument cluster. It is a Light Green with an Orange stripe. Might be loose at the PCM or Inst. Cluster. Good luck. John M. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
