PLEASE HELP...need 97 tracker timing belt info

Hello,
I just purchase a 97 tracker 4door hardtop and they weren't sure if the t-belt had been done. Will it cause damage if it were to break?? Any other helpful info would be appreciated! it has 160K miles on it and seems to run strong! auto, a/c...nice little truck. Thanks!
