Hole in tire...fix it yourself?

I found a small hole in the center of the front tire can this be fixed like this?

I have a kit like this i think i used it years ago to fix ATV tires and i think the last time i got a nail hole fixed it's what the local tire center used to fix it. In other words i just want to fix it myself :)

The Jeep has the stock tires on it and never goes offroad. I think thouse kits are for tubeless tries?

you go girl, I have gone as far as to use two strips at one time for bigger holes and had no problem.

I've used those kits successfully several times (usually after pulling a nail out of the tire). I've had good luck with them in the tread section, although I haven't tried them in the sidewalls. Tire shops will say these are bad for the tires, but I'd guess they're just jealous - they want to do it for $25 or more. Go for it yourself - that's why they make those kits.

Ive fixed many Tires with with either a plug or patch on the tread part of the Tire. One thing you have to watch out for is that sometimes when a tire is punctured it can break the one of the tires belts which makes it Super Dangerous to drive and never try to patch the side wall of the Tire it Just wont hold. After you have patched the Tire check for leaks and drive on it at slow to medium speeds to see if there is any distortion to the Tire.

Tire shops no longer use the plugs. But you can get them at most stores. Don't try patching the side wall though, it won't hold. the tire flexes too much there. Even dealers won't patch/plug a tire there. I had a gas station patch a side wall once years ago but told me not to drive far. I was on vaca and he didn't have a tire match in stock. I made it home and a week later the tire blew!

When I had my tire plugged at a local tire shop a few months ago, they have a rule of thumb for where it can be plugs,

It is a knuckles length from the corner (top of tread and sidewall meet) so that would be approximately 1" down from the top and 1" in from the sidewall. They reason they saide is that this is where most of the flex comes from during normal everyday driving and with all the flexing the sealant will not hold and will come loose causing it to leak again. They didn't use this style of plug tho, they use the ones that you have to remove the tire off the rim and plug from the inside out.
