I have replaced my 10-disc cd changer with another from the bone yard. Same symptoms. The cd's change, but most of the time they will not play. I just get the "Err" display on the radio.
Upon inspection, it appears that cd's fail to spin. I am suprised the second unit has the exact same symptoms. I've reconnected the cable at both ends to no avail.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Does anyone want to by my "spare" changer? I paid $125.00 for it.
Thanks......

That does seem odd. It could be that its not the changer at all...maybe the head unit but I have no idea how you would test this.
I had mine "err" after it sat awhile, but I just played around with it until it worked.
Another thought - are the CDs burned? If so try a factory CD. Is the CD cartridge holder warped? Another potential cause for a read error.

i'm having a similar problem with mine. when i pop out the changer and stick it back in, things seem to work well for a while, but then go back to "err" messages later, even on good factory cds. does anyone else know how to fix this?

Get some white spray grease and spray away on the inside of the changer after removing the magazine, and just start moving things around via the steering wheel controls - what you want to do is loosen things up. Not a guarantee but no worse off than you are now.
