I am sorry if this topic was recently descussed and I missed it. I have a 2001 2.2L Cavalier. I bought PaceSetter headers with a magnaflow exhaust. THe problem is the Headers arnt fitting due to a bar that is connected to the bottem of the engine and the tranny if i am right. The bar is about 3/4" thick or less but non the less very strong. THis bar is obstructing the header from being installed. I have taken the bar off and assembled the header and the rest but I still need to find otu how importent this bar is. If so could a modified bar that goes around the header be put in its place?

Thanks for the help.

WOW, how did you fit two headers in your engine? I can only have one :( As for the bar....I am not 100% sure on this, but it could be used for a brace of some sort.

sounds like you may be referring to the lower motor mount. your header woul dog on the front of the motor and down underneath, just trying to picture the 2200 in my head. I know the lower mount runs close to the exhaust usually next to the flex pipe. would look like this;
http://www.turbosaturns.net/images/bottom-oem.gif would look kind of like that. if it doesn't attach to the motor then it's the crosmember that is there to just keep thins straight and a modifiedcross member should be ok.
