4,000rpm at 70mph? Is this normal?

My 3 speed tracker that I just picked up runs at 4k rpm on the highway, I know it only has a 3 speed with no overdrive, but this seems a little high. Will it actually get 27mpg at 4k?

yeah you will still get good gas mileage at 70mph. it's a suzuki engine and most of their engines run at high rpms. it probably doesn't redline till 6500 rpm.

yeah that's normal.. i noticed it as well.. im used to driving my camaro, which at around 80mph is hovering at 2800-3000 rpms.. took a little getting used to, felt like i was redlining the first time i took my tracker down the highway
