99 Windstar ABS (I've got codes)

I have the codes pulled from my ABS and there are quite a few. I'm hoping from the boundless experience here I can get this diagnosed and fixed. I like my Windstar. It's a comfortable ride. It's paid for. (nuff said)

THE CODES

C1235 Speed wheel RR input signal missing
C1185 ABS Power relay output circuit failure
C1198 ABS Inlet valve coil LF circuit failure
C1194 ABS outlet valve coil LF circuit failure
C1254 ABS inlet valve coil RR circuit faliure
C1246 ABS outlet valve coil RR circuit failure
C1250 ABS inlet valve LR circuit failure
C1242 ABS outlet valve coil LR circuit failure
C1214 ABS inlet valve coil RF circuit failure
C1210 ABS outlet valve coil RF circuit failure

In that order

I suspect that I have both a relay fault (which in turn makes all the other codes light up) and a right rear wheel sensor gone bad.

Any help is well appreciated. Hopefully a moderator will see and give some quick advice this morning so that I can run to Ford parts desk and get what I need today. Thanks in advance

I'd be interested in what you find out, since I have the same codes. I bought a new ECU for my ABS, but have not installed it yet. BTW, I found that I had more faults when it was very hot outside. My ABS light cleared itself on a key-off/key-on cycle.

Hello

First off.. ...where did you get the codes pulled for your ABS? I"ve tried a few places and they either say we don't do that (or can't, or don't konw how) or they look at me and their eyes turn into $ $.

Did your ABS problem just start or have things been going down hill?

Do you have drums in the rear? If you do, the sensors and ring get filled full of brake lining dust (which does contain metal). I would pull the rear drums and clean everything up.

Also, I would take an OHM meter and compair both rear sensors. If there is a drastic difference then I would repalce the one that got a bad code.

There may just be a plug that has gotten dirty or knocked loose causing all of your troubles.

Just some thoughts from a far.

Ive been working on my brakes little by little for the past few weekends.

New rotors, drums, pads, shoes. wheel cylinders,... I have cleaned the entire inside of the drum with brake cleaner and wirebrushed the sensor rotor clean and shiny. I dont think it's brake dust though. You have good advice, I'll try backprobing the sensors.

I have a code reader system that I ordered from OBD-2.com and it's a good system once you decypher how to use it. I got it a few years back and it has paid for itself just in possible diagnostic fees that service centers charge. The guy that makes them constantly updates the software and will answer any questions about its use. I highly recommend it if you need such a device. You need a laptop, nothing special the website will even let you download the full software product to test it out prior to buying the hardware to attach to yer computer

As a check (cause I had fixed a few things in the past week) I pulled the fuses that have anything to do with the ABS to try to clear the codes and start over. I had a suspicion that those codes were stored in there from some past issue.

Only code C1185 ABS power relay output circuit failure remains.
I've only ben driving it around for a couple of hours now. We will see what else returns.

I bought the interface for this scantool: http://obddiagnostics.com/ Unforentually, it doesn't get codes for ABS! I believe a friend of mine has the scan tool that you have.
