I need to change transmission fluid, and I'm doing a drain and refill. Can someone tell me how much fluid I will need to refill it to correct level after draining the pan?
1993 toyota camry LE 4 cyl
Thanks!

What I meant was How many quarts will I need to do a drain and refill.
Also what will I need to change it, besides a filter?
Thanks

Around 2.5 quarts - Start at 2 quarts and add as necessary. Don't forget your differential. 1.7 quarts or so.

Test oil level with the engine idling at operating temperature on a level surface, after shifting through all the gears.

You will need a washer for the drain bolt if the old one is damaged in any way. You will also need a small-neck funnel for filling.

It's best to flush the transmission through the oil cooler tubes. Then you get rid of (almost) all the old transmission oil.

Torque on drain bolt is 36 ft-lbs

I have never drained my differential, can you help me out with the location and fluid type? Does the fluid drain out when you replace transaxle/ CV joints? I haven't done that yet...

It's on the bottom of the unit, approximately next to the transmission drain. Uses ATF, same as the transmission. No, it doesn't drain when you pull the half-shafts.
