It CAN happen to you. Theives are cowards!4dr92cavi4cyl 09-30-2005, 01:42 PM I had my CD player and my CD's and my wife's CD player and Amp, Subs, and box stolen this weekend. I lost about $500 of equipment (used), and they "tried" getting into my trunk by prying up the back seat, but luckily they couldn't have gotten into it anyway, now I'm glad I don't have a fold down rear seat. They broke my console where the CD player mounts, at least they had the decency to unplug all the wires so we still have our factory harness. They didn't get any of my speakers. There were two 8" subs in open view for easy taking in my wife's car but, they didn't touch them. Of course, I left my car unlocked, but her's was locked. Her window does not go all the way up, (or move at all at this point), so they had an inch to get a wire in to unlock it. Bastards. My two cars were not the only ones, 9 other cars had stuff missing Sunday morning and nobody heard or saw a thing. I think I figured out who did it but I'm not for sure, but I called the sheriff's office and gave them the name anyway, he said he'd heard that name before. I don't care if I get my stuff back, I just want to see this ass pay for his cowardly actions. It sucks because I have no idea what CD's I had in my case, originals or copies, and it blows my mind that they even took them since I don't have any "radio" music. I'm still fuming, raging, and generally pissed off every time while driving to work and back with nothing but car noise I didn't hear before. Oh well, it will probably take me another five years to save up and get alarm systems, fix her door, and get another box, subs, and amp. What part of "thou shalt not steal" didn't they understand? Please, share your "victims of theft" stories, I can now relate... mnKISSgirl 09-30-2005, 02:14 PM Sorry to hear that - I know how you feel! Well, luckily I didn't have as much stolen as you and your wife, and actually in the end, I got the last laugh... A few years ago while my car was parked in full day light right in front of my place of work, I had my cd player stolen too. Like you, they were "kind" enough to just un-plug the deck (which was an after-marked pioneer the previous owner put in) but still did consol damage and f'd up my passenger side door lock, which you still can't get a key in. No cds were stolen, because I had no need to keep them in my car anymore. Why, you say? Well, the player stopped working a few months before that. I had always taken the face off when I wasn't in the car, but once it stopped "sucking" the cds in, I thought, "who cares, it doesn't work anymore anyways." Yeah, that was stupid, but you know. So, sure I got robbed, but I just had to laugh at the thought of the jerkoff hopefully getting his ass kicked when whoever he tried to sell it to found out it didn't even work!! So, ever since then I've been listening to the radio via my trusty little boombox that I plug into the cigarette lighter (because I'm too cheap to have another one put in). Sure, I still can't play cds, but at least now my radio comes in clear as a bell! 4dr92cavi4cyl 09-30-2005, 02:28 PM Now that's funny. I used to have an old Sony CD player that didn't play CD's but worked fine otherwise. The little round "disc" thingy the keeps the CD in contact with the motor had messed up. I fixed it and it worked great for about a year. When the Sony went, I put in the AIWA, and kept the Sony for some reason. I ought to put it in now and see if someone tries to get it, then I can laugh my ass off at them for stealing a broken CD player. Chevy4life1985 09-30-2005, 03:15 PM Dude i got one that will make you cry. Ok so my first car was a 1990 Toyota Camry handed down to me from my grandfather who passed away( may he RIP). Anyways it wasnt the coolest car but it was one of the loudest. I had a Pioneer deck that i bought for $275. I had 6.5" Kicker Componets in the front which cost me $175 installed. I had 6x9 Kicker speakers in the back which cost me $125 I installed those myself. I had 2 Kicker amps. One was a 650x4 that i bought for $275. The other was a 2400x1 that i bought for $475. And i had 2 Kicker S12L7's with a box that i paid $500 for. So anyway the thermastat broke and i had it towed to my buddies shop. He knew i had all the shit so he told me that he would lock it up in the garage. So he fixes it and does the coolant flush etc. So he calls me and tells me to pick it up later. But i couldnt go. Well he left before the shop closed cuz he was tired. So his idiot fuckin mechanic leaves the car outside. Well guess what the next day my doors are unlocked and everything is missing. I almost stabbed my buddy thinking it was his fault. Instead i just beat the hell out of the mechanic. It cost me $1825 plus the wiring kits. So it cost me almost $2000 fucking dollars. So trust me guys i feel your pain. I still almost cry when i tell that story. :) Chevy4life1985 09-30-2005, 03:16 PM And my buddy had that same AIWA CD Player stolen out of his Honda civic. Viper_Storm 10-01-2005, 07:17 AM my older brother had his aftermarket deck stolen from his van. it was parked right in front of the house accross the street (its a tiny ass 1 way street) and he was about to go someplace and he pushed the button for the doors to open and the lights didnt flash on the car he was like wdf, then he went around to the driver side of the car and his window was broken out and the theives pryed the shit out of his dash and tore up a whole bunch of wires, the van didnt even start, it had to be towed to go be fixed. at the time i felt so bad for my brother, he had the van less then 2 weeks he just got it from the insurance money from when some guy ran a stop sign and totalled his cav. bh04 10-01-2005, 12:57 PM I haven't had anything stolen yet. I'm happy. I used to have a 1985 Chevy Celbrity, the ugliest car you would see on the road. It was two-toned cream and poop color bornw. Well I had a really nice system in there. ANd I had just gotten some new subs, and that night when I had them in someone tried to steal them. They tried to pry open the trunk used a crowbar, but didn't succeed. Must have got scared by something and took off. I then sold the car a few days later and got a 1989 Blazer and put my system in there along wiht an alarm. No one tried stealing form that from what I know of. Engine went bad, and I got my present pride and joy....my 2000 Cavalier. I had the sound place take my alarm off my Blazer and onto my Cavalier. Got a new alarm with remote start, and to my knowledge, no one has tried taking anything yet. FinchUsed 10-01-2005, 03:37 PM Well one time some idiot tried to steal the deck out of our 1988 Caprice. Sure the car is in great shape (looks almost new) but what I would like to know is what they were planning on doing with a tape deck from 88. Nobody wants one of those. My neighbor scared the guy off before he could damage the car thankfully. My neighbors hate me but at least they are good for something. 01Cavy 10-02-2005, 04:57 PM I've yet to have anything stolen, but there was a car stolen from where I work, and they came back to try and take two more another day. These guys were idiots though because one of the cars they tried to steal had the window half way down and they still tried to break the lock. Anyways, someone just happened to walk into the parking lot as they got one of the cars hot wired, and they took off running. Scary thing was my car was about 3 spots down from one of them they tried to steal. Thankfully it wasn't my car! Jonn 10-03-2005, 07:35 AM It didnt happen to me but to someone on a message board, the guy left his lawn tractor outside, next day or so happen to notice the headlights were missing, just 2 round holes with wires hanging out where lights used to be, LOL, have to be pretty poor and desperate to steal 2 headlights. On the same board, if i remember it right, a guy had a coil of black plastic pipe , it came up missing, ok... so he went and bought more for his project. Later on, i think it siad days after, he happened to notice hsi coil of pipe was back ! checked it out and apparently someone stole it to use as a protectant sheath to run a long length of house type wiring thru, well he had no idea why they returned it, but inside was the wire still intact. Strange people out there.............. Now with me, funniset is my father n law, was a long time ago but someone was stealing his gas almost every night. So to get them good, he got under car, took gas fill hose off of the tank, put a length of radiator hose on it, and connected it to a 5 gallon can sitting under the car. He had a idea who it was and all, so he filled the can with gas, water, sugar, metal shavings, dirt, you name it. Next day he sat on his porch and watched the neighbors teen son and friends, almost tear the kids car apart trying to get it running again LOL Chevy4life1985 10-03-2005, 08:40 AM Now with me, funniset is my father n law, was a long time ago but someone was stealing his gas almost every night. Well, broken may not be the correct word as the door was unlocked. But anyways, both LCD screens as well as the DVD player were stolen. They weren't anything special...one of those $130 clearance specials from Wal-Mart. But it still pisses you off. Now we have to explain to my 3 toddlers why they can't watch Percy's Chocolate Crunch video anymore as it was in the player. 4dr92cavi4cyl 10-03-2005, 02:31 PM I would have stayed under the car and grabbed a leg when they opened the gas tank door "got ya", but his idea was great! I was thinking about having my dad cut some vinyl to put around my car, something like a yellow and black stripped background with red letters saying "High voltage alarm system, touch if you dare!" maybe I could get an electric fence device and hook it up to the door handles. Classicrocjunkie 10-03-2005, 10:27 PM When i was robbed 2 yrs back, i lost 120 original cd's, Deck, 6x9's, 3 unopend dvd's, Aero pants, floor mats, and about 700 worth of damage to my passenger side door around the key hole. I got somewhere around 3,500 from insurance when everything was all said and done after the 250 deductable. First thing i did was put an alarm system on my car after that when my car still looked jacked, so even the ppl who installed it would never know what was in my car. Jonn 10-04-2005, 08:44 AM Ill add one more, we have this low life that has family out where we live, he doesnt work, drive at all. Steals anything that isnt nailed down and selld it to make a buck. He isnt around here all the time but appears when you least expect it so you have to be sure to put all your toys away at night. He never steals anything expensive really, steals like bicycles, hand tools, etc. little stuff. Anyway, as i said we live in the country, my garage is about 40 feet to one side of house, not attached. Garage door was open. ABout midnight i heard a slight metal "bang" out my upstairs bedroom window that just happens to face garage. I looked out and saw in the darkness (him) in a white tee shirt no less.. mulling around in the garage just inside the door. Quietly i picked up my 12 guage single shot turkey shotgun, slipped a 3" mag turkey load in it, slid the barrel out the window, i knew what i was going to do, scare the crap out of him...... The driveway up to garage was dirt/gravel. I waited patiently till i saw him exit, slowly walking out being careful not to make noise, sooooooo, when he got about 10 feet from garage, and i knew i wouldnt hit him, i cut loose that mag load between him and the garage. LOL, He instantly kicked in his after burners and all i could see was a flash of white (shirt) going up the driveway in the darkness. This was over 2 years ago, and he still walks by on the county road sometimes, gives me a dirty look if i happen to be close to the road, but never have i saw him again even get close to the driveway, let alone the garage...But too that may be that not long after i got a big male Dobe as well. But it was funny as hell seeing him take off like that. 4dr92cavi4cyl 10-04-2005, 01:28 PM Ill add one more... it was funny as hell seeing him take off like that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, ROTF, HAHAHA! You probably scared the theif right out of him, LOL! I can imagine he about fell on his face trying to run so fast. chevboy 10-11-2005, 09:06 PM i caught some guys in my grandprix before i sold it and bought my cavy. anyways they smashed the window and the trunk lid unfortunatly for them i caught them and they didnt get get fuck all accept for me and my buddies beating their fucking heads off the curb and their asses going to the hospital and guess what i got in shit, fuckin cops 4dr92cavi4cyl 10-12-2005, 12:51 PM Man, I bet it felt good giving them what they deserve. If I had caught the guys that ripped off my stuff, I would have probably got my ass beat, but I'd given them something to remeber it by. I don't know why cops don't bother trying to find the theives, yet if we do find them and take it out on them we get in trouble. Did the cops do anything to their stupid asses? angel_iz378 10-12-2005, 03:31 PM A long time ago, I had 87 grand am (b4 my cavy) and accidently left the door unlocked one nite. when I got in my car the next morning, my tape player/radio was gone, 5 of the less-than-a-dozen tapes I had in the car, and my special graduation tassle was CUT from my rear view mirror. Not a regular tassle, but the larger one that is a special thing. Probably high school drop out that wanted a reward for being a dumb-a**. jabby_jabby 10-12-2005, 03:34 PM Just last month my shiny new cobalt got broken into (im just browsing this forum for info. thought id share my break in story). I had JUST bought new amps and a box and an amp. I paid a whole of 250 for everything (hooray for working at an electronics store). It wasn't installed yet, just sitting on my front seat. Dont rag on me, mumsie and the cop and all my friends already reamed me out. They broke the window to get in and took it all except for the cd binder, which is weird because i have about 100 purchased music cds (i dont burn much). Anyway, I call the cops, they come around take all the information and then hes like "now for the lecture of leaving your stuff in the car" so i say "spare me, my mom already got to it" so he says "well, if your mom lectured you, i got nothing on her" :D I went through insurance for it, why the heck not i have a 50 dollar deductible for such things. fixing the window itself cost 2g, had to paint the entire side of the car, replace the back window too which seems silly, and reupholster the seat as they burnt it. And im still waiting to get the system replaced. And they have to replace it at its full market value. So Im laughing because i paid 50 bucks for 2 12 inch subs and the box. theyre worth about 400. i want to find the kids who did this and cut their balls off. pieces of shit have no appreciation for anything. fuckers, i hope they die. chevboy 10-13-2005, 02:40 PM ya fuck that the cops didnt do fuck all to them 4dr92cavi4cyl 10-13-2005, 04:40 PM Yet you got in trouble for beating a theives ass? That's justice in America for ya... eklite 10-16-2005, 09:22 PM indeed it happened to me today.my old mp3/cd player was dead for unknown reason, I just bought this new kenwood mp3/cd player(more than $200 after tax) from bestbuy yesterday, and I parked my car near the store today and one or more fuckers stole it as well as some changes, I've had it less than 24 hours and merely used it for 30 minutes, what the fuck? I have no money to buy another one expensive like this, you know I could use those money to change my timing belt or something(yes I lack of money to buy or change anything, it scares me whenever I think about it). and the fucker(s) didn't even need to break my window, it was fully open when I came back to my car. can I say I was lucky my window wasn't broken? anyway, let's pray this or these fuckers will eat my shit soon, and whoever stole your car or something will eat your shit someday or whatever you wish like fuck them in the ass. good luck! Project_Cav 10-16-2005, 10:35 PM if you bought a new deck for you car why would you leave your car with the window down...sorry dude in that case its your own fault..i have a complete stereo in my car and i never leave my car without locking it even if its parked in my driveway and i ran inside my house to take a piss...im not saying like "serves your right" cuz i would rather not have to see someone go thru that...but dont complain about it if you left it completely open for them to have no problem getting what they want. eklite 10-17-2005, 12:56 AM if you bought a new deck for you car why would you leave your car with the window down...sorry dude in that case its your own fault..i have a complete stereo in my car and i never leave my car without locking it even if its parked in my driveway and i ran inside my house to take a piss...im not saying like "serves your right" cuz i would rather not have to see someone go thru that...but dont complain about it if you left it completely open for them to have no problem getting what they want. I locked my car and the window wasn't down when I left my car(I checked it and no way a fly could sneak into my car), I meant the thief opened the window without breaking it, how professional Project_Cav 10-17-2005, 12:08 PM did you shake your door to see if any of the internals are broken..like the window crank arms..or the gears on the inside...cuz theres no way he/she could have broken in by lowering your window without breaking something...its a natural security system that unless you have the keys for the door locks that none of the inside accessories open from the inside...so unless your window is broken, wether it be the glass or the internal workings. the you must have left something open Chevy4life1985 10-17-2005, 01:32 PM Ya that dont make sense anyway. U left your car if near the store and no1 sees them "breaking" into your car. Sounds wack to me. 4dr92cavi4cyl 10-17-2005, 02:58 PM I bet someone saw you buy it, followed you to your car and waited 'til you were gone to get it. I don't see how they got in if you had it locked and the windows up, unless he hid in your back seat and was already in there. What pisses me off more than anything is that these punks think they are better than everyone else. We work hard for our money and we BUY our stuff with OUR money. These pricks have no life, they don't work, and they have no clue what's going to happen to them when they get caught. Hell hath no fury like a man whose been stolen from! I must thank him for not stealing my car or piss on my seat. eklite 10-17-2005, 08:13 PM Ya that dont make sense anyway. U left your car if near the store and no1 sees them "breaking" into your car.
