taillight gasket melted, helpbotang 09-29-2005, 03:31 PM I have a Nissan Sentra SE 94 and the rubber gasket between tail light and body was melted. The problem is that water can go through the melted rubber seal into truck when I drived in rainning. How do I fix this problem? Is there any rubber gasket available in the market, or this rubber seal (gasket) is fixed in the tail light so that I have to replace the whole lamp unit? Can anyone help me out? Chiquae07 09-29-2005, 03:43 PM u could just caulk round the taillight where the rubber used to be... id just buy new taillights, maybe some altezzas for like 20 on ebay... slideways... 09-30-2005, 12:25 AM water in the taillight wont make it pop like a headlight, but if you want cheap, go get a tube of the stuff used to put on windshields. itll seal the best. botang 09-30-2005, 04:46 PM many thanks for your suggestions. JerodKing 09-30-2005, 09:38 PM many thanks for your suggestions. If your paint is nice I wouldn't use regular caulk, it will eat it up. I used regular on mine though after my accident because I am poor and I had a tube lying around. Boogieman142 10-01-2005, 10:44 PM don't use urethane that is intended for a windshield, fix it with either a new gasket or replace the unit (you can get one at a junkyard for about 5 bucks, or atleast i can) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
