94 Grand Prix SE tape deck helpz9john 09-28-2005, 07:30 PM Hi, as stated in the title, i have a 94 Grand Prix SE edition. Recently i bought a tape adapter so i can plug in different electronic devices like a CD or MP3 player and listen to them on my tape deck. The problem is that my car has auto-reverse enabled on the tape deck. So, im guessing whenever it feels a tape has ended (the tape stops moving) it tries to switch the sides, and after doing it twice, it spits out the tape. So i can hardly listen to anything. The question is: is there any way to turn off the auto reverse feature on my tape deck, since i know it can be done (and is usually listed in the owners manual) in most cars. I have the standard stereo system by Delco that came with the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated! richtazz 09-29-2005, 11:25 AM Factory auto reverse cassette decks sense when one roller has no tension on it. When this is detected, the tape deck shuts off to prevent a broken tape from getting pulled in and making a mess. Most cassette adaptors for cd players etc, only have one roller, the other side is just a hole. To get your accessory to work in your factory stereo, you will need to get an adaptor that has two rollers in it that will keep tension like a tape. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
