I may be replacing the heads on my 93 V6, 3.2L engine soon (I need to do a compression test first). I called Autozone to get pricing and they asked me if I had alum. or cast iron heads. Anyone got a clue? Is there a way to find out before I tear the top of my engine apart?

Also, anyone know if there is a min. of pressure on the compression test?

Why are you taking the heads off?

I know the 95.5-97 yrs 3.2L are all aluminum - I'm assuming the 93-95 is the same??

Isuzu 3.2/3.5's are ALL aluminum. Heads & entire block assembly. It's the best way to have alum heads as everything expands and contracts at the same rate.

I'm going to do a compression test first, but it's running like crap. I replaced the timing belt (needed it anyway) and no change. The best analogy for the way it sounds when running is, it sounds like an old VW Bug when I step on the gas.
