My 1997 Camry LE (91,000) will occasionally have problems starting after the engine is hot. For example, after driving on the highway for 30+ minutes and then trying to restart the car, it generally takes 3 attempts before the car will eventually start. It turns over, but does not start. I have never had this problem on a cold start, it always fires up. It has new spark plugs and the battery seems strong. Thanks for any advice.

Clean the IAC valve.
The engine coolant temp sensor might be tarting to give you some trouble. There are several post hee that deal with that issue.

I finally got around to cleaning the IAC valve. So far, I have not had any further problems, but since this happens infrequently, I will continue to monitor.

I appreciate the information. Thanks
