Washer Fluid Spray

Lately I have noticed that my washer fluid does not seem to spray as high on the windshield as I think I remember it once did. Most of the spray is concentrated at about 25% of the distance from the bottom of the windshield. It also seems weaker.

I will do the obvious such as checking for restrictions or loose fitting hoses but I wonder if this has happened to anyone else. I suppose the pump could be weak too although I tend to not believe this.

IIRC the hoses are friction fitted onto the end of the nozzle. If this is loose I doubt I can clamp it and I don’t think the hose is long enough to enable me to cut off the stretched portion. Is there some sort of “dressing” for the end of the hose. I am tempted to try caulking or some sort of adhesive but they are not my first choices.

If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

When you check for your restrictions , make sure you remove the tank and rinse it out well. I have found in many tanks the round clear plastic seal that seals the caps for bottles of washer fluid. Unfortunatly it becomes invisible when it is in the tank.
